What would be good as a side with ham chowder soup?!

Question: I made the soup with ham, milk, corn, potatoes, celery, cilantro, butter and onions.

I don't have lettuce to make a salad, but garlic bread maybe?
What sounds good to you?

I love your description of your soup, it sounds so mouth watering! May I suggest some cheddar Cheese bisquits, White Cheddar melted over slices of a Baquette Bread, Fried Pepper Jack Cheese sticks, crusty Italian bread with a garlic hummus, sauteed Cabbage and bacon in a little butter, fried sweet potato sticks, toasted wheat tortilla chips with a Mexican Cheese Blend.........that's what I have for now. I'm thinking of these sides because I think these flavors all blend and compliment the flavors of your wonderful soup. Hope this helps you tonight!

cheddar and chive scones or buscuits. allrecipes.com has some easy ones..

Garlic bread is always great. Too bad you don't have lettuce, but you can make a mediterran chopped salad if you have onion, cucumber, celery, tomatoes and carrots.
Just chop them up and drizzle on some olive oil, lemon, salt and pepper and voila!

Yes, garlic bread would be good. Better would be pesto bread - toast slices of french bread, spread on pesto and warm in oven

Just a plain crusty bread, maybe warm it a little, since the soup is so savory, the garlic would be to much.

Garlic bread sounds right to me.

Corn bread would be yummy, with honey butter. If you don't like cornbread, garlic bread or cheese bread would be tasty also!

Your soup sounds really good by the way!!

a nice green veggie would be best and dinner rolls!!!

Cornbread and butter, with some honey or home made preserves or jelly. Nuff said! If you don't have cornbread makin's then garlic bread nice and toasty will do just fine!

Garlic bread would be wonderful. Here's my recipe. It's easy, but garlic bread really needs to be done right to compliment a good meal!

Homemade garlic bread:

1 cube real butter
3-4 cloves garlic, minced

Sauté together about 5 minutes.
Spread on fresh sliced french bread with a pastry brush. Heat under the broiler until light brown. Yummy!!

Have a wonderful meal!
Chris
