Anyone know this about eggs?!

Question: If im making a cake and the recipie says to use two medium eggs and i use two large ones instead,as they are the only ones i have, will this ruin the cake?

Also what are the benefits,if there are any,of eating eggs?
Not in a cake but boiled for example

Go ahead and use the large eggs. I've done it many times and it didn't hurt the cake at all. I wouldn't do it if the recipe called for more than 2 eggs, though. If you want to be precise, the equivilant chart for substituting egg sizes is on this site. According to that, you can substitute up to 3 large or x-large eggs for 3 medium:

Ten benefits of eggs:
1. Eggs are great for the eyes. According to one study, an egg a day may prevent macular degeneraton due to the carotenoid content, specifically lutein and zeaxanthin. Both nutrients are more readily available to our bodies from eggs than from other sources.

2. In another study, researchers found that people who eat eggs every day lower their risk of developing cataracts, also because of the lutein and zeaxanthin in eggs.

3. One egg contains 6 grams of high-quality protein and all 9 essential amino acids.

4. According to a study by the Harvard School of Public Health, there is no significant link between egg consumption and heart disease. In fact, according to one study, regular consumption of eggs may help prevent blood clots, stroke, and heart attacks.

5. They are a good source of choline. One egg yolk has about 300 micrograms of choline. Choline is an important nutrient that helps regulate the brain, nervous system, and cardiovascular system.

6. They contain the right kind of fat. One egg contains just 5 grams of fat and only 1.5 grams of that is saturated fat.

7. New research shows that, contrary to previous belief, moderate consumption of eggs does not have a negative impact on cholesterol. In fact, recent studies have shown that regular consumption of two eggs per day does not affect a person's lipid profile and may, in fact, improve it. Research suggests that it is saturated fat that raises cholesterol rather than dietary cholesterol.

8. Eggs are one of the only foods that contain naturally occurring vitamin D.

9. Eggs may prevent breast cancer. In one study, women who consumed at least 6 eggs per week lowered their risk of breast cancer by 44%.

10. Eggs promote healthy hair and nails because of their high sulphur content and wide array of vitamins and minerals. Many people find their hair growing faster after adding eggs to their diet, especially if they were previously deficient in foods containing sulphur or B12.

two sites with lots of info about eggs listed below

it will not ruin the cake, just whisk the eggs together and then use approx 2/3 of the mix. add a little cream or milk to the remainder and make an omelette for your tea!! No wastage. Eggs are good for you and extremely versatile. easy to cook in many ways............

You can use the large ones it will be no problem.

nope, the cake will turn out just fine ( i think so atleast), just be sure to beat the mixture thoroughly so that no lumps remain. other than that, there might be a slight egginess ( if you know what i feel) about the cake. if you are a perfectionist though, you might want to use 1 1/2 eggs, to get the quantity nearabout the recommended value.
eggs are a great source of animal protein, and carbs. just think of it as this way, - an egg contains all the vital nutrients that an unhatched chick needs to mature.

it shouldn't ruin the cake, (egg helps the cake rise) but you can first mix up the two eggs in a bowl, then remove a tablespoon before putting into the mix.

eggs are high in protein

to many are not good for your cholesterol

if I use large eggs instead of medium ones I usually add a little more flour (in your case i'd use 1-2 tablespoons) and it always turns out fine.

Won't ruin it, just make sure to check it well when it's finished as may need a bit more time. By using bigger eggs you're adding a bit more liquid to the mix, but not a lot, that's why you may get away with it.

Yes, eating eggs is good for you, what it isn't good is eating then on a daily basis or in big amounts. The problem is that we are not usually aware of other stuff that we eat that also contain eggs, like baked stuff or breaded meat/fish, etc...

clare named off alot of the stuff that eggs do for you
whenever i am using a recipe that calls for eggs, i always look at how many not the size the size of the egg doesnt really matter, well its never tasted different to me anyways
it wont ruin your cake dont worry
