What can I use canned beans for?!

Question: I just found 2 cans cleaning out my pantry. lol.
It's the kind in tomato sauce.
Do you have any recipes? I am a vegetarian, and I need a healthy recipe!!!!(P.s.:I realize the sodium content of those beans :P)

Try making bean bugers or beans in a wrap with veggies. For the burgers, there are lots of recipes online or you could just experiment, try adding about a 1/2 c bread crumbs, 1 egg or substitute, spices like cumin, garlic, chilli powder, and s&p, and maybe a cup of bulgar wheat or a mushed carrot... put it in a processor and let it sit for a few minutes and then make patties and cook em up... sounds tasty :)

to make you fart. how about vegetarian chili. go to allrecipes.com and you can search by the ingredients you have.

chili, bean dip, or beans and rice.

Fry up some onions and garlic in olive oil. Salt and pepper it.
Add a pinch of cinnamon and cumin.
Puree.
Eat with flat bread!

You now not only walk like an Egyptian...but eat like one too!
Welcome to the world of Fuul!

Cook some brown rice and add the beans with some fresh chopped tomatoes and some green chillies.

What kind of beans are they? Baked beans type or green beans? Sounds like you may have the vegetarian type baked beans. Just heat and serve along with any meal as a side dish.

Yuk if they are in a sauce they are probably better fed to the dog but then leave him outside for the night as the wind will be terrible.

I would definitely make a great chili with them. You can also make a Mexican layered dip, burritos, minestrone soup, or enchiladas.

You could throw them into a vegetarian chili .... My mother used to put big butter beans, in tomato sauce, in a pan and layer cheese on top (I use SOY cheese now) and just bake them until the cheese is bubbly, and eat them like that... or you could add a little garlic and/or chili powder to them, heat them and eat them as a side dish. Try them with BBQ tofu: get a package of extra firm, and cut it into 4 thick slices. Rub a little olive oil on all sides; sprinkle with oregano & garlic salt and bbq or grill them. (They taste a little like fried mozzarella then)

I make Vegeterian Chili:

2 15 oz. cans of mexican-style tomatoes
2 15 oz. cans of red beans, pinto, or piquinto beans
2 15 oz cans of kidney beans
2 15 oz cans of chili beans (which is what I think you have)
1 diced onion, medium
chili powder to taste
1/4 tsp of cayenne powder

Rinse the kidney beans put everything else either into a crockpot for 6-8 hours or in a stock pot on the stove at low heat for 3 hours stirring occasionally.

Cut it in half if you're going to cook it on the stove, then you can also decrease the cooking time.

it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to prepare and then makes 8 servings if done fully or 4 servings if done in half.

To serve: sprinkle with cheese, onions or a dollop of sour cream. You can also crunch up some tortilla chips and sprinkle over the top.
