How do I make meatloaf using the ingredients listed?!

Question: I am making meatloaf tonight for the first time ever! I'm nervous!

I have the following ingredients on hand, and I would like to incorporate most of them into the meatloaf. I am looking for a recipe to follow using the ingredients. Also, how do I know when it is done without a meat thermometer?

Ingredients I have:
hamburger meat
bread crumbs
egg
green onions
mushrooms
bacon

I have these spices in my cupboard as well:
Garlic (fresh and dried)
Oregano

Also, what do you serve with meatloaf?

Thanks for the help!

First Mix
hamburger meat
bread crumbs
egg
green onions (chopped finely)
garlic (chopped fresh garlic... 1-2 cloves for about 1 pound of hamburger meat)
(adding a 1/4 cup of ketchup and 3 tbsp of mustard will make it taste better)
Put this mixture into pan.

Saute sliced mushrooms and put on top of meatloaf. Place bacon strips across top of meatloaf to cover. Place in oven on 350 for approximately 45 minutes.

Serve with buns, whipped or stuffed potatoes, and a garden salad.

Hope you enjoy.

Mix it all together and add ketchup. Then the fun begins with getting your hands all mushey. If you have worchesershire then add some of that too. yummmmmmy!!! Also... mashed and brown gravy and corn go really well with this meal.

MIx together your ground beef, a handful of bread crumbs, a beaten egg or two, minced green onions (white and green parts), along w/ salt, pepper, dried garlic. Don't overmix; use your hands. Form into a loaf shape and put in baking pan. Lay bacon on top of meatloaf. Bake at 350oF for about an hour.

Serve w/ it: Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Or Rice and Carrots.

Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes

Kosher salt
3 pounds boiling potatoes, such as Yukon gold, peeled
1/2 cup milk
1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
3/4 to 1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

In a large pot, boil 4 quarts of water and 2 tablespoons of salt. Cut the potatoes into 1?”cubes and add them to the boiling water. Bring the water to a boil again, lower the heat and simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, until the potatoes fall apart easily when pierced with a fork.

Meanwhile, heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan, making sure it doesn't boil. Set aside until the potatoes are done.

Drain potatoes and mash w/ hand masher or food mill. Stir in the hot milk-and-butter mixture with a whisk or rubber spatula. Add enough buttermilk to make the potatoes creamy. Add 2 tsp salt and the pepper, to taste, and serve hot.

Roasted Carrots with Ginger-Orange Glaze
Serves 8

Inspect your bag of baby carrots carefully for pockets of water. Carrots taken from the top of the supermarket’s carrot pile are often waterlogged. This not only makes carrots mealy, it also dashes any hopes of caramelization in the oven.

2 pounds baby carrots (two 16-ounce bags)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1 tablespoon orange marmalade
1 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 475 degrees. Toss carrots, oil, and salt in broiler-pan bottom. Spread into single layer and roast 10 minutes.

2. After carrots have roasted 10 minutes, while carrots continue to roast, bring 1 heaping tablespoon orange marmalade, 1 tablespoon water, and 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger to simmer in small saucepan over medium-high heat. Drizzle mixture over carrots; shake pan to coat, and continue roasting about 8 minutes longer, shaking pan twice more, until carrots are browned and tender.

cook off the onions first cut up bacon into small pieces mix all including some garlic and herbs the egg and breadcrumbs as well put into loaf tin cover with foil cook for 1 hour for 1lb tin in bain marie that roasting tin with hot water serve with salad or veg and new potatoes

mix all together for the garlic crush up 3 cloves and add

if you have any ketchup or tomatoes that is a good add too if you like that taste in the loaf

Bake in a loaf pan at 350° for 55 minutes

Mix EVERYTHING together (except the bacon & mushrooms), including the garlic and chopped oregano, and add some salt & pepper. Make it into a loaf, or stick it into a loaf pan, and put the bacon over the top. If you have some Worchestershire sauce, or Italian dressing, you might want to put some on top too. I like to cover my meatloaf with tinfoil and bake it at 350 for about 30-40 min, then uncover it and bake it 10-15 min. more...... Mashed potatoes are the perfect thing with meatloaf.... and GREEN BEANS (brown some bacon in a frying pan and quick-saute the beans in the bacon drippings & serve with the crumbled bacon on top)...... Usually, I'll have some sliced strawberries with it too ...... green salad is also good thoujgh, and you could add the sliced mushrooms to it
