I don't suggest you eat stuff found in the wilderness... And especially mussels, I would be afraid of food poisoning.

And if you decide to cook them, I heard that if you put lemon (or other citrus juice) on them or soak them in them they will crack open, since they don't like acid stuff.

Buy canned mussels, safer and easier :)

SURE...

Yes you can, just remember to thoroughly rinse them before doing so. In the sumemr I go down to the beach and do it all the time! The ones you find yourself are so much better

That depends on who the muscle bound person is,some folks get downright nasty when you try and cook them, trust me

yeah you should ...if you wanna spend the next week in the toilet....

That's not a good idea, as you don't really know what the mussels have ingested. When mussels are harvested for consumption, they are taken from waters known not to be toxic or contaminated with bacteria, parasites or viruses that infect shellfish and cause food-borne illness in people who eat them. If you pick them off the beach, you have no idea until you get very, very sick.

yes, you can. Just make sure they are tightly closed and stay that way. If they open, tap them. If they stay open, they're dead, so pitch them. But if they close up, they're good to eat!

yes, but make sure you clean them and fully steam them. If they smell funky after steaming then throw them out.

i would not do it. but hey, if you feel brave you know, go for it
