Answers: it would preferably include brown sugar. thanks!

This recipe is amazing; I made it for my boss when he was out for surgery and took the rest to my office -- they were gone in no time. (Note: the recipe makes 72 cookies, so be sure to halve it if needed.)

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.

2 large eggs
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLé? TOLL HOUSE? Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.

SLICE AND BAKE COOKIE VARIATION:
PREPARE dough as above. Divide in half; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. Shape each half into 15-inch log; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.* Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

One of the best, and easiest I might add, chocolate chip recipes can be found right on the side of a bag of Nestle Toll Housde Chocolate Chips. They are great! I even prefer them to my family recipe, sorry Grandma...

Finally, fold in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until light brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Note

Mexican vanilla extract can be found in Mexican grocery stores. If you can't find it, feel free to substitute regular vanilla extract.

The best chocolate chip cookie recipe of all time in my opinion is the Nestle Toll House recipe. Just buy a bag and the recipe is on the back.

As you can see there are many, many good recipes available. Pick one, or if time is a concern take a short cut.

1 box of cake mix, (white, yellow or chocolate, you could even try another kind like spice cake.)

add 1 egg

and then add 1/2 cup of shortening- butter, oil or solid shortening, even cream cheese.

You can add some brown sugar if you wish.

Add a bag of chocolate chips and nuts.

Mix and use as cookie dough.
you are set to go.
Bake at 350 10-12 minutes depending on size.

Take this further and you can imagine the possibilities. One of my son's favorites is to use a Red Velvet Cake Mix and add in a bag of Heath Toffee chips.

Good Luck with your cookies.
