Salmon steaks???!
Answers: can you cook salmon steaks from frozen? and what goes well with them?
You certainly can! Put half an inch of water in a flat pan (frying pan, saute pan, omelette pan) and season to taste. Put your salmon in while the water is cold, bring it to a gentle simmer. Depending on size and thickness, anywhere between 6 and 10 minutes should see you right. To go with them, I like the old fashioned baby new potatoes and petits pois my self, but anything not too strongly flavoured will do nicely. Bon Apetit.
a seamen vinegret works well with salmon
I think you need to defrost them first. It depends how you like them, I think a sweet chilli sauce tastes good.
On my bags of frozen salmon they say to defrost before cooking. I think that is best, but here's one of my favorite recipes.

Salmon goes great with couscous and a stir fry!
I always buy fresh salmon, and grill it the same day I buy it... so don't know about frozen fish........ but, try a rice dish and steamed broccoli or asparagus with it ... and maybe some sliced strawberries & pineapple
Personally I would defrost them, then pan fry & serve with new potoes & dill & butter sauce, with some Asparaguson the side. Delicious.
I wouldn't cook them from frozen, the outside will be done and the inside will still need to be cooked.
I like Salmon grilled, with olive oil, salt and pepper or to jazz it up, grilled with teriyaki sauce.
What goes good with them, just about anything. Tossed salad, rice, potatoes. Depends on what you fell like. Try them grilled with vege kabobs and rice.
Part of the beauty of salmon is its color! Try to choose sides that accentuate its orangey pink like green veggies, pickled beets (I know, not many people are into them...I am a Scandinavian so we like our pickled things on the side of rich fatty fish like salmon) The Parsley or Dill that you sprinkle on it looks and tastes good also (We must use Dill ! :)
I like a yellow pilaf or couscous side dish that may have red peppers and green peas (barely cooked) in it...If I'm poor I use turmeric or if its a big occasion I use saffron in the rice or couscous to color it.
It also looks nice if you brush a soy sauce or tamari garlic/ginger (w/ fresh ground pepper), glaze around the sides (not all over) of the steaks...
edit; Oh yeah, completely defrost in the refer 1st...covered.
You can cook it from frozen i usually wrap it in foil with a knob of butter and fresh rosemary. The perfect sauce to accompany it is swartz coriander and lime. Also tiny
roasted new potatoes in their skin seasoned with black pepper and sea salt.
defrost them first,if you have a steamer, steam for 6-7 mins,if not wrap in cling filmand boil a pan with enough water to cover the fish and once the water in your pan is up to the boil, turn to a simmer and cook for the same amount of time, buy some creme freche, add some fresh or dried dill or tarragon and a squeeze of lemon, salt and pepper to taste and serve with the salmon besides some new boiled potatoes and broccoli
