Help! I'm making cookies and it calls for 1 egg, we are out....but i think i have a solution?!

Question: Although we are out of eggs i have this Liquid "real egg" stuff in a carton. I think it should work because the container says that it is equivilant to 16 eggs....and that 1/4 cup is a sering and 16 are in the container. Therefore....i can use 1/4 cup of it as substitute for one egg, right?

The egg substitute would be fine, and your measurement assumptions are correct.

Happy cooking.

i dont think it should be a problem. go for it

I have tried that and it doesn't work. I can't tell you why it doesn't but I just know that it didn't work for me. So you are warned.

Do you have a cookbook because sometimes in the back there is a section about substitutes? They may have a list if you are out of this ingredient, you can use this instead.

Yes its fine, your measurements are good..what kind of cookies are you making?

im thinking the solution is: borrow an egg from a neighbor

Yes you can, you can also use Mayonnaise but you would have to lower the oil or fat content in the recipe. And believe it or not it leaves no funny taste in the recipe.

What luck that you have this on hand. Should work.

yes you can use applesauce

Hi Sweetie,
If you are ever out of eggs, you can always use mayonnaise as a substitute.

Love,
Mom

i use substitution eggs all the time. they are great. and yes your calculations are right. just make sure you mix in very well!!!

yes you can! I use them when I make low-cholesterol cookies for my Dad :) U can't tell the difference at all!
