You can take a tomato. radishes etc, i don't know if you have ever seen some people peel an orange, they slice it lightly down the sides and then peel the peel one by one down till it resembles a lotus flower or a lily, you can do the same with tomato's and radishes. Looks lovely as a decoration.

If you want flowers I know a great Dandelion Green Salad recipe it's fresh and new:

Ingredients
1 bunch dandelion greens, washed, drained and trimmed
3 green onions, chopped(white and green parts)
fresh dill(or 2 teaspoons dried)
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 lemon, juice of
salt & fresh ground pepper, to taste

Directions
1Place all the ingredients, up to olive oil, in a large bowl and toss together.
2In another little bowl stir together oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Pour over salad. Enjoy!

Here are two sites that have ideas...just copy and paste them into your browser. Have fun.
Some stores also sell kits that have the little tools to make them. I just cannot recall what it's called. Sorry

There are cook books you can find. I think if you contact The Organic Association in Bristol they maybe able to help.
I've eaten lasagne made with nettles and salad with the flowers from courgettes.

I bought a little kit, many years ago, from a kitchen store, with a detailed instruction booklet (with photos) and a couple of little tools ... try Williams Sonoma, Kitchen Connection, Linen & things or Bed,Bath & Beyond

there are lots of easy ways to make flowers from fruits & veggies.

1) Using a small & SHARP paring knife, slice just the skin from a tomato, starting at the base. Continue to peel the tomato -- all in one continuous movement (so you don't break the skin into more than one piece) until you have peeled the whole fruit.
Use the end you started with to act as a base & roll up the skin. You'll have a flower.

I have other similar techniques, but I'd have to stop & think about it for a minute.

2) You can use a v-shaped cutter to make flowers from melons, pineapple, etc.

3) Use a flower shaped cookie cutter to cut a shape form your desired fruit / veg. Then, using a melon baller, scoop out a melon. Attach the melon ball to your flower shape using a skewer.

I sell kitchen tools& demo techniques like these at my shows. There are lots of easy "cheats" that look really impressive!!

You can dunk rose petals or violets in a thick sugar syrup, let them dry out and use them as cake decorations. Chive and nasturtium flowers can be used in salads. AND, you can dip courgette/zucchini flowers in a tempura batter and quickly deep fry them.

Do a Google search & click on images... u'll get loads. Type in .....Vegetable Sculpture

There are some fantastic 'Edible Art' books available, trawl your local book shops in the cookery section x

When I was in Thailand I did a fruit and vegetable carving course where we were taught to carve flowers out of anything from cucumbers, melons, carrots, turnips etc. I got a book with all the instructions in it and a special knife. I'm not sure where you could get the same here, but you might try some Thai sites to see if it is possible. Best of luck.
