Answers: I have the flavored instant mashed potatoes and I was wondering if I could substitute heavy cream for the milk (Im out of milk).

yes, just use 1/2 cream 1/2 water. that way it'll be thinned out.

not the best idea.....

absolutely. The flavor will be so much richer.

Sure you can or you can substitute the milk/cream for Chicken Broth. It gives it great flavor without making it taste like chicken and it also makes the potatoes abit richer in flavor.

My dad did that before. However, I would agree with the other answer, that you might want to thin it out with water.

heavy cream isn't good. too rich even with water

Of course.

Mashed potatoes will take anything. You could even use plain water, or broth, or melted butter or sour cream.

Yes, you can substitute heavy cream for milk, but since youre using instant mashed potatoes, use less, because you wouldnt want to over power the potatoes.

Yes you can!
I would also add a couple tablespoons of instant creamer to them. It will make them taste just like real potatoes!

sure ... they'll be alot richer than with milk, but it can only improve the flavor of boxed potatoes:) .... next time, try the refrigerated tubs of REAL mashed potatoes. They taste just like homemade

you can put the water in which potatoes have boiled and after add some butter.PS u add the water after u smashed them

Sure! Just skip the butter! That is already IN the cream!

I NEVER ever use milk, I make them with canned evaporated milk. They are much richer but sooooooo much better tasting. Many people have ask what I add to make them so much more tastier but I never let them know. So easy and you'll get a ton of compliments!!! ALSO....DO NOT dilute the canned evaporated milk as suggested by the others, ruins the rich whipped flover!!!

yes you can. Just dilute the heavy cream wtih water like 1/2 water and 1/2 cream.
