What are some healthy dips to eat with veggies and crackers?!

Question: Please, not too complicated. I cant make hummus because my stores dont sell chickpeas or hummus, I even asked! >:(

I really love pepper strips, broccoli, carrot sticks, wheat crackers, etc, for lunch, and I like dip, but I have no recipes.

I'll bet yoru stores sell garbanzo beans, which are the same thing as chickpeas. Just ask for garbanzos.

Roasted Eggplant Dip (baba ghanoush)
Plain yogurt mixed w/ fresh herbs, lemon jc, S&P
Salsa
marinara sauce (warm it up)
lowfat refried beans (warm)

nothing

Yummm, I love those items with low cal ranch dressing.

crackers= organic ketchup because it doesnt have corn surup and its 10 calories per serving

sugar free jelly= also 10 calories

vinagarette is good

ranch dressing is packed with calories and milk (eww) so wouldnt suggest it.

Light ranch dressing :]]
or even try sum wierd **** like coleslaw and french onion dip.
yah never know what you like until you try :]

Almost all store sell chickpeas......check Garbanzo beans, that is their correct name. You could also try some Ranch dressing or Blue cheese as a dip, or make your own with Ranch dressing mix and sour cream.

Can make your own just start off with a base healthy bases are
- Plain fat free yoghurt
- Chopped/Puréed tomatoes
- low fat cottage cheese
- avocado ( guacamole )
======
With these bases you can pretty much add what you like to make your own dip just chop up finely or put in blender whatever is most applicable.

With the use of lime and olive oil, this could be "Greek", although it isn't called that. Also the result is of a "creamy" consistency, suitable for dipping veggies.

1 1/2 teaspoons lime juice
3 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
6 teaspoons water
1 cup sesame seeds, finely ground

Blend lime juice, olive oil, salt & water at medium speed.
Slowly add the ground sesame seeds.
Continue blending until the mixture is like thick heavy cream.
Notes: Add more sesame to make mixture more paste-like.

Have fun.

You should try the light ranch dressing dip with veggies, and the spinach dip with crackers. It's good

This is my favorite healthy dip:

Take some nonfat plain yogurt, and put it in a strainer (lined with a paper towel) and let it drain over a bowl in the fridge for a few hours. You will be left with thick creamy nonfat yogurt. Mix the yogurt with a little bit of light sour cream and a little light mayo (or just do any combination of the three). Add a capful or two of Mrs Dash (any flavor you like). Let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes or so. Adjust the amount of seasoning for your taste. You can also thin this out with milk or even water for a healthy salad dressing.

Good luck!

salad dressings
vegan sour cream
melted cheese or soy cheese
salsa

How on earth can your food store not carry chickpeas (garbanzo beans)??
