Which stove would you prefer, conventional or convection?!
Answers: I need to buy a stove but theres like 200 to choose from. Is one more cost efficient than the other? Does one cook better? I hope im stating the question right......
Well depending on the price you pay for gas...that's probably the most less expensive but make sure to check ALL models for watt usage...you might pay more for an oven upfront but your savings is going to come from your long time use! The price can of course differ from one company to another but I am sure to know sometimes your paying for the name...not the quality!
Convection ovens are good, they cook faster since the heat is pushed around by a fan located in the back of the oven...personally I am a Chef and have a convection oven and hardly EVER turn on the fan...I wish I would have just bought a regular gas oven! I HATE electric stove tops with the ceramic...if you ever use cast iron you can crack the stove top...also if you try to be fancy like me and shake the pan while cooking it scar's the top of the ceramic and you cant get it clean....Over all I would have to suggest you buy a gas stove if you have the hook up...not a convection! It simply drys out the food...it cooks much quicker and if you are unsure on how much to adapt cooking times and temps from a recipe, then it better off to just get a regular gas stove, it give the most even heat structure, and better consistent heating elements for stove top cooking!
I prefer convection ovens because they have a fan that evenly distributes heat so there are no hot spots in your oven. Food cooks faster than in a conventional oven as well. The only problem with that is you may have to alter your cook-time and temp so your food doesn't burn since most recipes are written for conventional ovens.
I have no idea which is which. I just bought a new stove. I really like my glass top stove. It's so easy to keep clean! Also, I bought one that has a fan in the back. It seems to blow the air around and it cooks food evenly and quickly.
