What is the best way to make cheesy potatoes?!

Question: I am supposed to bring cheesy potatoes to a family function tomorrow.
I am trying to think of a way to make it so it's just a little different.
I usually make mine using cubed potatoes (as opposed to hash browns) sour cream, cream of celery soup, cheddar cheese and a little pepper.

Is there anything else I can add?

Here are some recipes to spark some new ideas-
or to your list - add bacon/eggs
----
Cheesy Sliced Potatoes

6-1/2 cups thinly sliced potatoes (about 1 pound)
1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 cup milk
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Place the potatoes, water, onion and bouillon in an ungreased microwave-safe 2-1/2-qt. dish. Cover and microwave on high for 12-14 minutes until potatoes are tender and bouillon is dissolved, stirring once.
In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt and garlic powder; stir in milk until smooth. Pour over potatoes. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 4 minutes or until thickened, stirring twice. Stir in sour cream; sprinkle with cheese. Cook 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

Cheesy Hash Brown Potatoes

2 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
1-1/3 cups buttermilk
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 package (32 ounces) frozen cubed hash brown potatoes
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon paprika

In a slow cooker, combine the first six ingredients; stir in hash browns. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 4-1/2 hours or until potatoes are tender.

Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

6 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 egg
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Additional shredded cheddar cheese, optional
Place potatoes in a large saucepan; cover with water. Cover and bring to a boil. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until very tender; drain well.
In a mixing bowl, mash potatoes. Add cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sour cream, onion, egg, salt and pepper; beat until fluffy. Transfer to a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with additional cheese if desired

use cheddar cheese cream soup, and add some green onions and some bacon bits.

4 large baking potatoes
8 slices bacon
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
8 green onions, sliced, divided

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake potatoes in preheated oven for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
When potatoes are done allow them to cool for 10 minutes. Slice potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop the flesh into a large bowl; save skins. To the potato flesh add sour cream, milk, butter, salt, pepper, 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 the green onions. Mix with a hand mixer until well blended and creamy. Spoon the mixture into the potato skins. Top each with remaining cheese, green onions and bacon.
Bake for another 15 minutes

Try adding some brocolli & ham to your recipe + a little butter & seas. salt- GOOD!

have a baked potato cut it in half and put melted cheese on it

Do a cheesy mashed. Toss in a couple of handfuls to your usual mashed recipe. I would add a cloves or 2 of garlic minced, parmesean and/or shredded chedder/shredded blend/mozzerela etc... And maybe even use some ricotta instead of milk or sour cream, also add in some crem cheese.

Pour into a casserole dish, and top with a little more cheese. Bake it at whoevers house you are going to until it's nice and bubbly then turn on the broiler to give it a nice brown top. Sprinkle with chopped bacon and green onions.

I haven't done it this way before but mashed potatoes and melted cheese are 2 of my fav food groups.....oops I mean foods. ;)
