How much water is in 64 fluid ounces of ice?!
Sounds silly, but my Dad gives me a hard time & I need some facts. Thank you! Love you!
Answers: I'm supposed to be limiting my water so I crunch ice- does it make a difference whether it's crushed, cubed or shaved? Clear or cloudy?

at the facility I work at we use the measure of ice in the same size glass. (in your case 64 oz.) the ice is divided in half and we record the fluid intake for that glass as 1/2 the volume. (in your case 32 oz.) this is not totaly accurate but its close enough for the Md.'s and nurses in a hospital it should be close enough for you also.
melt it and then find out.
3 and 1fifth of a UK pint, UK pint =20 fld oz US pint =16 fld oz
water expands when frozen, so when it melts, it will be less (I don't know by how much, though, you could do an experiment.)
8fl oz are in 1cup so 64 divided by 8= 8cups (4 cups in a quart, and 4quarts in a gallon, so if it's water, it will be equal to 1/2 a gallon or 2 quarts)
There's less space inbetween the more it's crushed up, so the smaller the pieces of ice, the more 'accurate' it will be, ... it's hard to estimate with large pieces of ice cause it's taking up more space...
NONE,,,OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE WATER AND NOT ICE.
Assuming your ice is FROZEN, how would you measure it in FLUID ounces?
64 FLUID oz. of ice ...clue?
when it melts it will actually be less than what it is now becuz it expands but either way it should b about 8 of the same measurment
