Have you ever heard the saying "you are as dumb as a bread!"?!

Question: Do somebody use it other places than Norway? :P

Answers: Do somebody use it other places than Norway? :P

Heard it! Would be fun to use it in an English country =P

-"You're as dumb as a bread!"
- "Huh?"

It's really "Dum som et br?d" in Norwegian, though.

I've hear "dumber than dirt" - but never bread...

Never heard it. If I had, I would have to correct the grammar.

I think I've heard "you are as dense as bread" here in the USA

i have never heard of it in america however, i remember some expression about being better than sliced bread.

Hi Maria,

New one on me, but I have heard "definetely a few slices short of a loaf"

My favourite in describing some that are slow on the up-take has to be " the lights are on, but there is no-one in"

How about "It is all crust, and no bread inside"

Just a thought

Bob

Only in america, where they really are as dumb as bread

No but if you sit on your buns all day you are loafing.

Dumb as dirt, dumb as a box of rocks, yes..

Dumb as bread, no... & I'm half Norwegian..

Nope- just as dumb as a box of rocks. I like- not the sharpest crayon in the box, rides the short bus, and elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.
