What is your favorite(and relatively easy) way to prepare tilapia?!

Question: I'd love some recipes or general ideas. I feel like making some tonight.
I have a smoker if you've any suggestions on what you like to do w/ it before you smoke it on the grill.

I like to use creole seasoning or cajun then you can add clams with the tilapia then smoke

My mom does the most awesome job with fish. She melts down about 2 tablespoons butter. Hits it with a dash of garlic powder and lemon juice, worchestire, salt and pepper. She does this in a pan on the stove, cooks the fish in this sauce and after she plates it, pours the sauce over. Delicious!

I don't have a recipe for a smoker. But, what I do like to do - for a quick fix meal: is place the tilapia on a cooking sprayed baking sheet. In a small bowl mix together some low fat mayonaisse, mustard, wocestershire, parmesan cheese, paprika and breakcrumbs or crackercrumbs and a little melted butter. Then spread that on top of the fish and bake in a 375 degree oven for 8-10 min. Squeeze a little lemon juice over the top and serve!

Awesome everytime and a big hit.

We just sprinkle Durkee’s Citrus Grill on it. Grill or put in the oven until done. It’s outrageously simple- and it’s tastes wonderful. We have this almost once a week. We get the Durkee’s seasoning from Sam’s.

I happen to like foil packets make a little foil packet and add some fresh veggies at the bottom, some squash, onion and tomatoes.

place talapia on top and sprinkle some old bay on those

add some squirted lemon, butter/margarine, pepper and olive oil and bake it for about 10-15 min in the foil pouches...

paprika , lemon + cholula { a brand of hot sauce }

Grill or bake with lemon, butter and garlic

I would not smoke the fish, Tilpia is a firm fish, but if you smoke it to long, all you will have, is a pile of white goo. Instead, cook it in a saute pan, with bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. just add your favorite spices.

I just bread and bake tilapia and it always tastes great.

Just dip the fish in a beaten egg and coat in the breading. I bake it for about 20 minuetes at 350 depending on the size of the fillet.

Breading:
Bread crumbs
salt and pepper
parsley
basil

4 to 6 tilapia fillets, about 1 1/2 pounds
Salt and pepper
1/2 C finely crushed nuts
3 tablespoons melted butter
Heat oven to 400°. Lightly grease a large shallow baking dish.
Arrange fish fillets on the prepared baking pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Combine the butter with the crushed nuts, pour over fillets. Beautiful, easy and delicious.

Two cups of taco chips, one piece of bread blend in processor. Add to it one tab of taco seasoning to your taste. Dip in egg and chip mix fry. If you want in oven spray with Pam both sides bake in oven until done.

Dip in egg then coat with Italian Bread Crumbs and lemon pepper seasoning and pan fry in Olive Oil.

Blackened Tilapia
Puree garlic, ginger and cilantro. Apply this on whole or a filet of tilapia along with a dash of fresh lime juice. Season with salt and pepper and you favorite hot sauce. Marinate for an hour. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Blacken both sides of Tilapia. Alternately you can grill it as well. Serve with pilaf and house salad.

My fiance and I love cooking Tilapia on the grill. First we place one piece of Tilapia on a single sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil. Then sprinkle the fish with lemon pepper seasoning, a sprinkle of olive oil, dot with butter/margarine, and squeeze fresh lemon juice on top. Fold the foil to create a packet. Place the packet on the grill. We usually grill for about 3 to 4 minutes per side. I hope this helps!
