BLONDE BROWNIES
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. vegetable oil (or melted shortening)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips (or butterscotch, or whatever you have)
1/3 c. chopped nuts
Combine everything (except chips and nuts) together well in a big bowl. Then spread it in a greased 9x13" pan and sprinkle evenly with the chips and nuts. Bake at a350 for 30 min. Cool in pan and cut into bars....makes 48 squares
EASY to do and you can substitute stuff really easily:)
Bread with cream cheese & jelly spread, cut into triangles.....
Get two packages of refrigerated crescent rolls. Unroll them, pinch the perforations shut. Spread with melted butter, and a mixture of cinnamon sugar. Roll up the long side, slice and bake according to the instructions on the dough wrapper..instant cinnamon rolls!
If you are really gung ho, top them with a mixture of powdered sugar, milk (a tiny bit) and a drop or two of vanilla.
EASY NUTRITIOUS SNACK
1 cup. corn syrup
1 cup. sugar
12 oz. peanut butter
5 cups. corn flakes or Cheerios
1 cup. coconut (optional)
Mix sugar and syrup together, bring to a boil. Boil 1 to 1 1/2 minutes (or you can count to 100). Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, stir. Add cereal and coconut. Drop on waxed paper.
Run to the store and buy some of the refrigerated cinnamon rolls. Yum!
