slice your potatoes into decent sized chunks, leave the good skin on, but core out all the dark spots and boil until semi-soft. then mash or whip the potatoes with about a 1/4 cup of whole milk and a whole stick of butter. add salt and pepper to taste. you can even add a 1/4 cup of sour cream and some garlic if you like. they will stay warm for quite awhile, but if you need them to be hot, bake them in an oven for about 10-12 mins.
use red potatoes , they work the best in my opinion
This recipe is so unhealthy, but so good.
Take 4 - 5 red quartered skinned potatoes and boil them until they are almost done in well salted water. Depends on the size. You can really adjust this recipe. Once the potatoes are done add 1/2 stick of butter and mash them (no whipping), you want them to be chunky. Then add about 1 small bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing. At this point taste for salt and pepper. They should taste good at this point. Then fold in a handful of French's french fried onions. Bake at 400 in a greased baking dish for about 1/2 hour. Then top with cheddar cheese and if you like bacon and back into the oven until the cheese is all melty. Let cool for about 5 minutes before you cut into it. It's so good.
Boil potaoes (keeping skin on ofcourse) mash with single cream, a little milk, butter and some herbs (any kind of herb you like)..yum yum :-)
I think red potatoes are the best as well. This is how I make them and they are delicious every time.
While the potatoes are boiling combine butter, milk, salt and pepper in a sauce pan and heat until warm. Boil the potatoes until they are fork tender. Then drain. Put the potatoes back into the pot they were cooked in. Pour over a little of the milk mixture and mash. Add more milk mixture until you have reached the desired consistency.
I hope this helps.
