What is the best way to cover a pineapple-upside-down cake?!
Do I put it in the fridge? Do I leave it out? Can an experienced baker help me out here? Thanks!
Answers: I know, it is best served warm, but I am taking it to a potluck right after work tomorrow. So, I made a pineapple-upside-down cake. : ) It looks wonderful, but I am concerned about what I should do with it until tomorrow night. I'm afraid that if I cover it completely, it will get very soggy.

COVER LIGHTLY WITH SARAN WRAP SHOULD BE FINE A FEW TOOTH PICKS TO KEEP WRAP OF CAKE WILL HELP
You need to let it cool down a little. After it cools down then cover it with seran wrap. It will be fine. I wouldn't worry about putting it in the fridge. As long as it's not blazing hot where you are, you'll be fine for tomorrow. Save me a slice!
Cover it with a tea towel and put it in the coldest part of your frig Should be okay
David is right I forgot the toothpicks to keep the towe
l off it
This problem has baffled bakers all over the world for as long as baking has gone on.
A good rule of thumb is, if it has milk in it, or something that is made from milk in it (pudding as an example), then yes, refrigerate.
However, if it is baked, then it is cooked. Cooked eggs don't go bad, milk that is cooked in a baked good won't go bad.
I'd say that your best bet is to cover it loosely and tuck it in the fridge until you are ready to leave...what time it will be out after that will allow the cake to come back to room temperature and it should be fine...and delish!
I would definitely let the cake cool down completely and then cover it with plastic wrap that has been sprayed LIGHTLY with Pam or other spray. I do this at work all the time and it works really well. And leave it out of the fridge.
Do you have a Tupperware (or Rubbermaid) cake carrier? It should fit really well into one of those..... If not, then stick toothpicks all over the top, and lightly cover with saran. It should be fine. But, if you regularly bring cakes somewhere, you SHOULD get one of the cake carriers:) (check on eBay)
