Would you tell me please, how do I cook a soft boiled egg correctly, so I can dunk my soldiers in!! Thank you.!

Question: BOILED EGGS

Bring eggs to room temperature before using.
If the egg has been stored in the refrigerator it can be warmed gently under a flowing hot tap.

Place sufficient water to cover the eggs in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.

Lower the eggs carefully into the water, using a tablespoon.

When the water reboils, start timing and reduce the heat so that the water simmers gently.

Fast boiling makes the wgg ehite tough and causes the egg to bang against each other and crack.

Timing boiled eggs depends on the size and degree of hardness desired.

You should start timing the eggs from the moment the water first boils.

Soft-boiled (soft whites, soft yolks):

Large size: 3 minutes 20 seconds.
Medium size: 3 minutes.
Small size: 2 minutes 40 seconds.

Medium-boiled (hard whites, soft yolks):

Large size: 4 minutes 15 seconds.
Medium size: 3 minutes 50 seconds.
Small size: 3 minutes 20 seconds.

Hard-boiled (hard whites, hard yolks):

Large size: 10 minutes.
Medium size: 8 minutes.
Small size: 7 minutes.

put it in boiling water for 3.5 minutes

Just put it in boiling water for about 4 mins i think...

i dont no really tho....my mam does them best haaaa

good luck hope it turns out okii....

made me want it now :}

4 mins in an oven

Put egg in pan of water. When water starts to bubble slightly round the edges of the pan, start timing for exactly 3 mins. Thats how i do it for my kids.

Boil a pan of water, obviously, and then put the eggs in.About 5 minutes for a medium and 6 minutes for a large egg. You will have afirm white and a dippy yolk.

Try Saint Delia's method above.

put the eggs in cold water (so that they won't crack). Put the pan on the stove and when it starts boiling, set a timer for about 6 minutes. Then drain the eggs and let them cool down.

Soft boiled is what was referred to as a three minute egg. Bring water to boil, put egg on spoon and lower into the boiling water. Time for approximately three minutes (four if you want the white firmer and yolk starting to firm). Take spoon and fish egg from the water. Either cut tip of shell off and eat directly from the shell, or crack entire shell and serve egg on plate with toast points.

bring to the boil for 3 mins - take out with large spoon if the egg dries immediately its ready

it all depends how fresh the egg is the fresher the longer it takes too cook. For a nice runny dippy egg I always place eggs in boiling water and time for three and a half mins. Hope this helps. enjoy

put the egg in cold water and bring it to the boil. It will be soft under 3 minutes, but longer than that and it will go hard.

momoftad is correct. soft boiled eggs are 3 minute eggs.

however, you can spend about 20 or 30 usd and get an egg cooker. than you don't have to worry about boiling and timing eggs.

that's what i did. too easy to get distracted cooking soft boiled eggs that didn't end that way.

Put it in cold water (this way it won′t brake!) Bring the water to boil and leave it boil for 3 minutes, that′s the way I like it anyway!!!!!
Sometimes if you put the egg when the water is already boiling it brakes and then it′s not so good!
Enjoy it!

Water already boiling - I mean really boiling. put the egg in but it must be room temp not fridge temp!
Turn the water down really low just so that it stays very hot.
In you go with the egg and wait 3 minutes exactly. It will be part solid by 4 mins and hardboiled at 5 mins.

Put the egg in enough cold water to cover it, bring to the boil, as soon as it starts to boil time for 3-4 mins depending on size of egg and how runny you like it.

The trick here is to take the out of the refrigerator first, put it into water allow it to get to room temperature. If you can leave it out of the refrigerator over night that would be better. Then start off at a slow boil for 3 minutes

it depends on the size of the egg

BUT the way to tell if a boiled egg is cooked is to lift it out of the water with a spoon and watch it. If it starts to dry (just a small patch) as soon as you take it out it is ready.

It MAY be slightly undercooked, but if when you take the top off it is undercooked just pop the lid back on for 30 secs.

boil for 3 mins

Pooh is right---That is exactly the way to do them

ok wait to water boils up and right when it starts to boil as in bubbles come out drop the eggs in there and time for about 3 minutes about 20 seconds and immediatly right after the eggs been in the water long enough drop them in a bowl of ice water to stop the eggs from cooking any longer then wait like 3 minutes then peel and enjoy hope this helps lol

bring the water to boil then put the eggs in and cook for 3mins no more and then you can dip your soldiers and enjoy
