Are my tomatoes OK?!
Answers: I froze some fresh tomatoes at the end of summer. I smashed them up and put them in ziplocks. I want to use them now to make some Italian sauce. I'll be making a large amount and freezing portions and making lasange like casserols (one for dinner one for the freezer) I think they should be OK. What do you think?
Ah, the joys of the freezer. Your tomatoes should still be good up to 12-18 months after you put them in there. If you notice any clear signs of freezer burn, you may want to think twice, but otherwise, have fun cooking!
Yes, they are good for a year or more in the freezer. But if you didn't skin them you will have to remove the skins.
Yes, they'll be o.k. I do that all the time. It's so fast and easy.
Yes, it should be ok.
i also think they are going to be OK but the quality will be less.
I think they should still be alright, unless the bag was open and they got really badly dessicated. But, since they're going in to sauce, I think even that would be forgivable. No matter what, though, it will all come down to their quality when you froze them.
I love your teaser question, sorry, it is to funny!
frozen goods should be good up to a year if frozen properly in a freezer bag that is sealed properly.
Show me your tomatoes! I WANT TO SEE THEM!
If you put the fresh tomato ziplocks in the freezer, then they'll be fine. You can cook with them and freeze the sauce.
