Making homemade mac-n-cheese, but....?!

Question: I could have this dish as a main course, but my husband argues it is a side dish?

What do I serve with this to keep us both happy?

make it a casserole: add some cubed chicken, broccoli, peas and bite sized carrots.

or add some seasoned ground beef to it.
(a better version of cheesy-mac hamburger helper)

Just fry him up a piece of meat

Just chop up some ham and add it to the mac n' cheese or some cooked chicken.

Make a chef's salad.

I would just grill him a piece of chicken to go along with it. It was always a side dish for us too.....although I could have it as a main course too. I love pasta.

As it doesn't have meat in it, it can be classified as either and both.

Classic mac-n-cheese fare includes hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets and other simple foods.

Here's a suggestion...why not crumble and brown some ground beef and throw that right into your mac-n-cheese? It would be a simple cheeseburger macaroni.

Happy eating!

i agree with you, but my husband is the same way! men want meat, he probably won't care what, a slice of fried ham, a hamburger, a piece of steak, a piece of spam, lol - they aren't picky, as long as there's meat on their plates ;)

add cubes of ham and you have a full meal.

a good fried fish always goes well with mac n cheese ,especially with the breadcrumbs on top

its really a side dish but many use it as a main dish me its a sides......... serve somehting like baked chicken, grilled salmon and type of meat that you like and maybe a green veggie with it as well......good luck
