I need a slow cooker or crock pot recipe for chicken leg quarters?!

Question: I am thawing them now and need a good recipe for chicken leg quarters (leg and thigh for those who don't know). I have a slow cooker and a crock pot so I can use either one. I want something tasty (similar to baked chicken). I want to put it on before I leave in the morning and let it cook for 8 to 10 hours or so. Tomorrow is a busy day for me.

Nothing with cream of mushroom soup on it or anything, please.

Well,.. wash the thigh quarters before you cook it!(I'm sure most black people do!,..i always do ;)!)

Make a spicy marinade with some,.fresh tomatoes,peppers,garlic,mixed herbs,a chili,mushrooms (chopped!)and soya sauce.

Coat the chicken with the spicy mixture and leave over night to marinade.

Transfer the ingredients to you're pot and put on a slow heat to cook thoroughly,.turning when needed.

Serve when chicken is golden and spicy mixture is has melted down.

Serve with steamed Basmati rice,..or pasta of you like,..enjoy! ;)

I do breasts in my crock pot with a bottle of BBQ sauce. Best BBQ chicken you will ever taste. My family will vouch for me.

You aren't going to get the baked chicken effect in a crock pot. This is good, I've made it. You could easily use leg quarters instead of a whole chicken. This recipe is from some website, I don't remember which one.

put meat in slow cooker cover with fresh veg, mushrooms, onions, garden peas, celery and a couple of cloves of garlic(left whole they are deliciously sweet) add chicken stock to cover, when cooked add tablespoon cornflour to thicken if required. enjoy

I normally just do a Chicken Cacciatore or Apricot chicken recipe in the slow cooker with chicken peices.
Try this cacciatore -
1 large onion, sliced thinly
6-8 Mixed Chicken Peices
2 (6 oz each) cans tomato paste
8 ounces fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/4 cup water

Put sliced onion in bottom of slow cooker; top with chicken breast halves. Combine and stir together remaining ingredients. Spread over chicken. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours, or 3 to 4 hours on high. Serve as a sauce for hot cooked spaghetti or similar pasta.

Or Just follow Apricot Chicken recipe with Nectar and French onion soup mix.. ;-)

place the chicken in the crock pot with chicken stock, rosemary, garlic salt and pepper. when you get home they will be delicious or add greek seasoning or a little italian dressing with the stock and omit the rosemary. serve with rice or potatoes (rice is faster) and a veggie and voila effortless yummy chicken.
