What to do with failed oatmeal raisin cookies?!
My husband and I have tried a couple and I served the crumbly things in a bowl with spoon.
It doesn't even have a buttery taste it should, in fact it has not much flavor. The raisins in them are good, just purchased from the health food store.
Answers: I have used this cookie recipe successfully many times. But this time, I eliminated all granulated sugar and used the sweetener, Stevia, instead. Well, the cookies did not and will not brown, they are so fragile that they fall apart when handled.

Hi, Oh, my goodness. You must be disappointed. Recovery time, now. I'd use them in the base and top for a peach crumble or the topping for apple crumble (apple brown Betty). Just substitute your crumbled cookies for the crusts.

P.S. I put my prepared fruit in a plastic bag or container I can cover and then I sprinkle with ~1tbsp. of flour before I give them a good shake to coat the fruit. The little bit of flour thickens during baking and I don't end up with a juicy fruit mess.
I'd dry out the crumbs and use them on top of ice cream, puddings, coffee cakes, ect.
Use them as the topping for peach or apple crumple.
If you add melted butter to the mix, you could use it as a base for a cheesecake.
Save them to put on ice cream, on cereal, on oatmeal, on yogurt. You could put it in a trail mix that you make.
If you have a dog that isn't on some strict diet, you could put a little in his bowl at meal time. The oils and oats are good for their coat.
P.S. - We use Splenda and like it, or honey - never heard of Stevia.
Have fun. :-)
Stevia is ok for using in drinks but is worthless for cooking. Use honey instead. I'd just eat what you have like granola this time. My wife makes oatmeal cookies with honey instead of sugar and they are great.
Melt a little butter and add the crumbs...mix. Press the mixture in the bottom of a pie pan and use as a pie crust If you're looking for a sugar free pie, use your favorite sugar free frozen or refrigerator recipe. To make it simple, just pour in an instant sugar free, fat free pudding.
Hang them on a string and then put them in the trees. Birds love cookies and you will love to watch the birds.
nfd?
use it at a topping for pie, cake, ice cream etc. or, add some whip cream/ice cream to it and you have a quick yummy snack!
How about adding some melted butter and brown sugar to the crumbs, stir, spread on cookie sheet and bake at low temp. until golden brown? Will likely taste like granola that you can eat as cereal or top with vanilla ice cream.
Hope this helps,
Dessa
