What are some good side-dishes to go along with jambalaya?!

Question: I know that jambalaya can be used as a side-dish itself, but I am going to use it as a main dish! Thanks for your help!

Fried corn on the cob,red beans, fried chicken and salad....add your tea and its all good....

plantains

Jambalaya is usually served by itself as a main dish, so I really can't think of a side dish that you would serve it with.

Jambalaya already has a little bit of everything in it. I'd just serve it with a green salad.

A fresh salad.
It would make the table look really colorful.
Also it's simple so the jambalaya will stand out.

Cornbread

corn on the cob wrapped in bacon and grilled

Cornbread

I'd go with plantains. Real jambalaya is really too spicy to serve with most creole dishes like red beans and rice, dirty rice (since jambalaya has rice in it, this would be overkill anyway). I'd say a nice green salad and for a little "sweetness", maybe a small serving of bread pudding with some rum sauce. You COULD think of that as a dessert, but you don't have to.

rice, very simple bread....make it homemade though

Oh, some fried plantains also called tostones! Maybe corn on the cob with cracked pepper and olive oil!

It should be enough as a complete dish itself if you are using rice, meat and veggies. I might add a simple green salad as a starter and serve with a nice cornbread or even a crusty French bread.
