Can you make lemon chicken with lemon pie filling?!

Question: Not the pie filling in a can, but the powdered stuff (Dr. Oetker, Lemon Pie Filling).

I have an extra pack and would love to make lemon chicken, would this work? Any recipes?

I suppose you could, though I wouldnt. I guess it would result in a creamy sauce, but maybe too sweet.

OMG! that's disgusting. Lemon pie is a sweet dish, lemon chicken savoury.

I don't know the pie filling, but my guess is that it would be way too sweet (and there isn't much you can do to remove sugar from a recipe once it's already in there...that I know of) I know you can get rid of excess salt with a potato or things like...anyhow...good luck, but my guess is you should save the pie filling for pie and find a real lemon chicken recipe :)

I have never evenseen powdered lemon pie filling but here is what I would do. Mix it with water, until it's really thin, add a sprinkle of salt. Save a little out. Marinate the chicken breast in there for at least an hour, take it out of the marinade. Sprinkle a little of the remaining powder over the chicken, place a few garlic cloves cut in 1/2 around the chicken. Bake for about 20-30 at 350 degrees. Let us know how it turned out.

P.S. I almost always add honey to my chicken and pork. It goes so well with white meats. If you have any left over make up a chicken salad, I'll bet it's really good in salad.

Haha, No sweetie! Melt real butter, add a dash of lemon juice. Swirl around in a bowl, add chicken peices...coat them with the butter sauce well! Dip the buttery pieces in bread crumbs seasoned with salt and pepper(garlic salt too) Fry in butter and oil for 5 mins on either side. If the chicken is really plump, fry on medium heat for 10 mins on either side.

I would try it, but it would be sweet if the filling contains sugar.

You can if you really want something that will most likely not be edible! This is pudding and has starches, flavorings, sugar, etc. Nothing you can do to change that or compensate for it. It will not make a creamy gravy at all ... it will make a gelatinous mess which will taste like lemon pudding with chicken in it.

Sorry, but just use lemons or lemon juice to make lemon chicken dishes. Use the pudding packet as a filler for a cake, trifle, etc.

Yuck....no
Lemon chicken is made with butter, real lemon juice and zest of a lemon. You don't want to make it that sweet.

no...

i made it with jello once and it came out GREAT!!
i think it would work

i never have.. but go for it. check www.recipe.com/chicken
