I'm looking for some slow cooker/crock pot recipes?!

Question: I've been trying to find a good recipe that I can cook for friday. I decided that I should make something in a crock pot because then I can put it together and let it cook all day then I'll have enough time to get the house prepared for our guest that is coming on Saturday. I was looking through my recipes that I already have and I decided that I'm going to make something I have never made before. So does anyone have any crockpot recipes that your willing to share?

The recipe cannot have tomatoes, cheese and it cannot be spicy cause I have ulcers and acid reflux.

Also if you know of any good sites that have some crock pot recipes please let me know

The one that I make is simple and really good. The longer you leave it on, the better.

I get a roast and add 2 packets of stew seasonings (mcCormicks) 4 cups of water. let that cook for a long time, then add potatoes and carrots. YUM YUM

a good roast sounds good.

i bought a cookbook from Sandra Lee called semi-homemade cooking it has some awesome crock pot recipes also try the food network's website

My favorite crock pot recipe and its easy too! 1 can chicken broth ~1 can corn ~1 can re fried beans ~1 large onion chopped ~ 1 can great northern white beans ~ 8 oz taco sauce ~ 1 packet of Uncle Ben's instant rice. 1 or 2 large chicken breast chopped (I usually boil them first to make sure they are done) when it is done you topped it with grated cheddar cheese. You can even put it over rice and then top with Cheddar cheese. Now leave the cheese off and use mild taco sauce and it will be wonderful also. If you taste this I will get best answer for sure!

I have done pork and cooked on low and made tacos with the shredded meat (added taco seasoning to the pot and some chicken stock.Or I like to slow cook beans or even a bean soup on the crock pot. Its simple and cheap. Take a ham hock a bay leaf, pepper, salt and cut an onion, one to two cloves of garlic and 3 bullion cubes and add your favorite beans to the mix. cover the mix with chicken broth and cook all day!

Most of this is cooked in the crock pot but the final part needs to be done on the stove. You can actually cook the chicken the night before and de-bone it, saving the broth, chicken and vegies. Put it in the frig and the next night about 20-30 minutes before you want to serve it, reheat the broth, thicken it with cornstarch or flour and water, add the biscuits until they puff up, about 10-15 minutes. Then add the de-boned chicken and stir, heat for about 5 minutes, then serve.

Chicken and Dumplings

1 whole chicken
1 bay leaf
2 tsp garlic salt
6 black peppercorns
6 cups of water
1 cup baby carrots
1 package refrigerator biscuits (10 – 12)

Place chicken in crock pot and add everything except carrots. Cook on low for about 8-10 hours or on high for about 3-4 hours. Remove chicken and de-bone. Pour broth into large pot on stove and heat until boiling. Add carrots and cook for 30 minutes. Thicken broth with cornstarch or flour mixed with cold water. Tear refrigerator biscuits into 3-4 pieces each and drop into boiling broth, lower heat and cover. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until biscuits puff up. Add chicken and carrots, stir, and serve.

This can be done in the crock pot as well. Just cook on high for about 3 hours or on low for about 6.

Mushroom Chicken

4 boneless or bone-in chicken breasts
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1-8 oz container of sour cream (regular or light)
2/3 cup sherry
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tsp garlic salt
pepper to taste

Mix together everything but the chicken in a bowl. Pour half or the sauce in a casserole dish. Add chicken breasts and top with remaining sauce. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.

Serving suggestions: Mashed potatoes with sauce as gravy or red potatoes, vegetable, and Hawaiian rolls.
