go to walmart super center if available....they sell rotisserie chicken....flavored, you can debone it, and use the chicken for tacos, quesadillas, sandwiches, anything you want. ALLOT of grocers sell these amazing chickens already cooked for like $5...they can be used in ANYTHING
Get a bunch of beggies and makes salad and add the chicken to salads....
Buy deli meat and make rollups with cheese and flour tortillas, and type of dressing and or spread you want to use for flavor.
Frozen pizza and a salad is NOT a bad meal.
You could buy frozen lasagna, stay away from Stoufers, they suck, make mom spring for maybe a Marie Callender...they are good. But a "family size" and eat for 2 days.
Buy cheese and crackers and have that with bowls of canned soup.
Can of ravioli put into a small oven proof pan and topped with mozz cheese and some frozen garlic bread, and you have italian dinner.
Or buy frozen ravioli and top wiht jarred sauce and cheese and bake, salad, garlic bread, yum!!!!!
Make a slit along the length of a hot dog, stff with kraft single, bake at 400 for 12 to 15 min and have a baked cheesy dog!
There are so many ideas out there, have fun, be creative and good luck!!!!!
OH I ALMOST FORGOT...
buy bagels and top with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni that has been diced....bake at 400 for 10 minutes.....your very own pizzas
Bake a whole chicken. Takes up 5 minutes to prep and then you pop it in the overn for around 70 minutes. Eat what you will with a pasta side and a veggie (15 minutes at the end of chicken cooking time).
Take the meat off the bones that you do not eat and use in next day recipes - chicken salad, jambalya (box meal), pasta dish.
Not a lot of time messing around in the kitchen but gives ya 2-3 days worth of meals.
EASY CHICKEN & NOODLES
1-12 oz bag egg noodles
2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
spices (your preference)
7 oz cut chicken breast in foil bag or 2 small cans chicken
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Stove Top preparation:
Start boiling noodles (direction on package).
Add butter or olive oil in a separate pan, add chicken and spices.
Heat chicken; (if you are using raw chicken let it cook fully).
Add soup to chicken and spices and simmer over low heat. After noodles are cooked, drain and add to chicken and soup, mix.
Cook's Note: If you don't have egg noodles on hand, try tossing angel hair directly into the soup!
Suggested seasonings for this soup are: (one of the following or as many as you like) fresh garlic, minced, onion, chopped baby carrots, chopped celery, green onion, scallions, minced fresh parsley and a pinch of rubbed sage. If you are using chicken breast, don't allow the broth to boil; just simmer, adding the chicken breast last and cooking only until done.
This recipe is great! It is quick and easy and the family loves it! You can change it up and use different soups and even add cheese! It tastes home-made!
CHICKEN POT PIE
1 can Veg-all
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 Pillsbury ready crust
2 cans white chicken or 2 chicken breast (boiled and deboned)
In large bowl mix veg-all with juice, cream of celery and cream of chicken soup. Then add chicken. Place ready pie crust in 9 inch pie pan. Pour mixture then top with other pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Ooooh, I got this great one for you!
(I teach cooking sometimes.)
Take some chicken breasts.
a couple of eggs stirred up in a bowl.
in a separate bowl, put some instant potatoes
(don't cook them) and Parmesan cheese, salt & pepper.
dip the chicken in the egg, then in the potatos & cheese, and place in a baking pan that has a lot of margarine in it.
When all the chicken pieces are in the pan, put them in the oven for twenty /thirty min on 350
Once or twice before they're done, slosh the pan around to make sure they stay coated with the butter well.
Eat with a small salad or alone, & enjoy! (Make sure the chicken is all the way done as ovens differ. No pink.)
you can't go wrong with baked potatos. stab one with a fork a few times and throw it in the over for about a minute on each side and you are ready to go.
you could make little pizzas too. i like to use a little pizza dough with stewed tomatos as the sauce and chop up all of your favorite veggies and add cheese. it doesn't take long to cook either.
Mac and cheese. Salad with grilled chicken. You can marinate a chicken with lime juice, salt and pepper and some kind of rub. Grill it and keep it frozen for days. Thaw it cut it in strips and toss it with salad and pasta. I had this pasta salad today, you might like it. It's perfect for this time of the year. Cook pasta. toss it with extra virgin olive oil, chopped red onion, salt and pepper, chopped sweet red/orange pepper, mango, avocado and either fresh mint or persely (I prefer mint). It's a very healthy and pretty lunch option. I hope you get to try some of these and like them too. Best of luck.
penut butter and jelly sandwiches, simply the best!
want a change from one day to the next, use rye bread, or mix different flavs of jelly...experiment...the pb&J has over 243 trillion combinations available.. lol you can never go wrong with pb&j. :P
