What's the best grade of ground beef to use?!
We absolutely love ground sirloin, but our grocery doesn't always carry it.
And what is some of your favorite recipes, other than burgers or hamburger helper, that use ground beef? We love to do soft tacos and set up a mini-buffet with all of the trimmings.
Answers: In your opinion, what's the best flavored ground beef? Lately, my husband and I have been buying 90/10, just so we can get "some" fat because we're are trying to reduce our fat intake.

You can buy 93% lean and add a couple table spoons of olive oil to a pound and incorporate it before making burgers. Instead of having the animal fat, the olive oil is much better for you.
Some stores will actually grind the sirloin for you if you pick it out since you both love it so much. If you have a Kitchen Aid mixer, there is a meat grinder attachment that you can purchase to make your own mix if you like.
I use ground beef sometimes for spaghetti sauce, tacos and burgers like you mentioned but we eat it maybe a few times a month. With grilling season at hand, I've been buying chunks of kabob steak and cutting them up into smaller bite size pieces for skewers. Brush them with a little olive oil and some montreal seasoning and it is amazing. We make it a whole meal with some grilled baby portobella mushrooms and husked corn on the cob. No special prep is required for either of the veggies, except to wash them and it is done in no time.
angus beef....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Kobe beef
**** beef buy some rib-eye.
90/10 IS GOOD FOR PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING EXCEPT BURGERS ON THE GRILL. 85/15 HAS JUST ENOUGH MORE FAT TO HOLD THEM TOGETHER ON THE GRILL, AND ADDS QUITE A NICE FLAVOR. FAT IS FLAVOR. PATTIES WITH 90/10 WILL TEND TO FALL APART UNLES YOU USE EGGS AS A BINDER, BUT THAT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE.
How much do you want to pay...!!!
select what looks like a good cut and ASK the butcher to grind it.. I asked for a fine mix,.. Now they seem to stock EX lean Ex fine..
costs like $4.50/lb...
I have bought (since) an electric grinder BUT
I am a fool...the work involved FOR 1 single old gas bag> ?
I use 93/7 for almost everything and use seasoning to add flavor instead of relying on the fat content for flavor.
We enjoy meatloaf, Swedish meatballs, porcupines, dirty rice, the possibilities are unlimited. I collect cookbooks so I can always find something new to try, I also use the internet to find new recipes. Here is a site I use all the time www.cooks.com
