I defrost some ground beef in the microwave and was about to cook it but I didn't know my gas was off???!

Question: So now I can't cook the meat, so do I throw it away or put in the refrigerator

Answers: So now I can't cook the meat, so do I throw it away or put in the refrigerator

Ooh! I had such a good response! The thing is, there is one catch to thawing in the microwave (french oven lol). You must use the product immediately. Otherwise, it is a perfectly acceptable method for thawing food. The other methods are:
1) As a part of cooking.
2) Under refrigeration
3) Under running, 70 degree F water with the product completely submerged.

You double your chances for a food born illness if you do not cook raw product immediately after microwave thawing.

gas was off from the stove or grill. Well if gas was off from stove just grill. If off of grill just fry up some hamburgers with onions. If all fails cook hamburger in microwave and make hamburger helper for tonight. But yes you can put in the fridge it will not hurt it.

you can still cook it in the microwave
