No...you can do all sorts of fun stuff...I have soaked mine in buttermilk laced with hotsauce overnight..drained it then rolled it in all kinds of different crumbs for different things...my kids like it rolled in potato chip crumbs for our pic nic chicken...I like it in a mix of parmesan cheese and cheese cracker crumbs..we have had so much fun playing...then just baking it in the oven...sometimes we bake it for abit then put it in a casserole dish and do OTHER stuff with it...I have mixed up a bit of sour cream and green chiles and cheese and put that over the top in the 10 minutes of baking...that turned out real good...we have just been real creative and had great fun...

no
flour first
whisk two eggs
dip them in egg mixture
sprinkle a little season on them
and fry em up

so good

Breading can be made from a lot of pantry items rather than just bread crumbs. You can use crushed corn flakes (makes them really crunchy), crushed crackers, and southern style breading is actually seasoned flour.

Dip in egg first, then in whatever you desire to bread the item with, and fry it.

no not really
i agree with him ^^
but i like breadcrumbs

you can use Panko ... or crushed cereal (like cornflakes; rice krispies; unsweetened shredded wheat)..... or use instant mashed potato flakes (that's about all they're good for anyways:)

No, not at all. Breadcrumbs do however give a nice texture, coating, appearance, and taste.

However you can use more than just breadcrumbs, you can use rice or corn cereal, seasoned flour, crackers, etc.

No, not at all.

Chicken tenders can be cooked like any other cut of fresh chicken meat.

I use them for different wok-recipes, for saté ...
I use them for most recipes with chicken-cubes or strips, but mainly because the supermarket I buy them at have salt-infused their chickenbrest-filets ...

By the way, you could try using shredded coconut instead of breadcrumbs :)
Dip chicken tenders in egg beaten with a little salt, and then in shredded coconut - fry in oil till goldenbrown.
They make a great appetizer, especially with a dip of mango chutney blended with fresh pineapple. :P

Personally it taste better with bread crumbs but really its not necessary.

you can also crush up crackers, and bread them with milk and egg mixture., or flour of course.

You can make a good batter with equal parts cornstarch and flour. Dip the chicken into a beaten egg mixed with salt and pepper to taste, and then into the cornstarch/flour mix. Fry in hot oil until done, drain on paper towels. This is really good for chicken that you're serving with a chinese sauce, too.

You can cook chicken tenders many different ways, but if you want a crispy golden crust, you need breadcrumbs to get that. Now when I make fried chicken, I soak it in buttermilk and dredge it in seasoned flour. It comes out like KFC, but if you are going to the store for buttermilk, you might as well pick up some breadcrumbs (or Panko, yum!) while you are there.

Seasoned flour would work, but your coating won't be as crispy. You could also crush up crackers - almost any kind (except maybe cheese flavored) would work. If you have croutons in your pantry, you can crush those up - they are already seasoned. Also, any grain cereal would work - raisin bran (remove the raisins), Kashi, corn flakes - even Captain Crunch (Planet Hollywood serves a chicken dish with Captain Crunch as a coating).

one kind of coating I have used and it is weird but works well for baking your chicken tenders in dry milk powder. i mix the powdered milk with what ever seasoning I am using and dredge the chicken, arrange on a oiled cookie sheet and back till brown and tender. learned this method when I worked as a cook in a hospital. It is accepted method to bread chicken for cardiac or diabetic patients foods. Very good and the chicken browns nicely.

no, you can make unbreaded chicken tenders.

No, skip the bread crumb part of the recipe, they'll still turn out fine, they just wont be breaded.
I prefer them not breaded anyway.

you can use bread crumbs, cracker crumbs or flour..
