Baked sliced potatoes and onion slices with melted margarine/butter brushed on and Salt and Pepper wrapped in foil pouches for grilling or in oven. Single serve sizes are nice and easy.

Mashed Potato recipes:

2 cups mashed potatoes mashed with butter or margarine and whipped up with a small amount of milk(start with a quarter cup measure and sprinkle in until creamy and soft).

To mashed potatoes or leftover mashed, add a can of cream corn and stir into a pasty pancake batter for corn and potato cakes.

To mashed potatoes add chedder cheese you grate and melt in then place in glass loaf pan or pie plate and top with chopped chives, salt and pepper and bake until firm.

To mashed potates, add roasted garlic and salt and pepper, and blend well. Leave it set a few minutes and taste it to see if you need more of any ingredient. Garlic usually gets enhanced by time of serving.

Mashed potatoes can be placed inside dishes like meatloaf or shepard's pie. You will be able to find them on the net.

Sliced potatoes and onions can be fried as raw fries in nonstick pan with margarine, salt and pepper until brown. I use a lid to steam them and brown them without stirring often. They take a little time to learn how to do.

Day old cooked potatoes make good cut ups for home fries or potatoe salad.

If you want to crisp potatoes, you can spray a foil or use release foil and place thin slices on a sheet with a cookie sheet under and spray with canola cooking spray and salt and bake at 400 while watching. They are not exactly the same. The water content is evaporated in a fryer at a faster rate than you can do any other way.

Scalloped or Au gratin potatoes are made with sliced potatoes in a cassarole, milk and margarine and baked. Recipes are avaiable. Try about.com or allrecipes.com. for easy recipes.

Baked potatoes, pulled from shells and mixed with cheese, and sour cream and placed in half shells and rebaked are twice baked potatoes and may be garnished with parsley and paprika or chives as well as topped with bacon bits depending on your choice of flavor. You can also try different cheeses for different flavors. I have even seen chopped sauted broccolli in these.

good luck with your potatoes.

just fry it in a pan

Chips or fries :)

spud n water is good

Chips, mash,roasties,

boiled? baked? hehe. i think you can parboil potato slabs then bake them in the oven as oven chips...

get brushed potatoes - boil until soft - then cut open slightly, add sour cream or butter and eat.

Cut up potatoes like chips then put them under the over, put a bit of cooking oil on top of them.

You could also make potatoe wedges, the same way you make homemade chips but don't cut the potatoes.

Baked potatoes- Get a potatoe, wash it, poke holes all over it with a knife, put in the microwave for about 10minutes, make sure its soft before you eat it. You could cut it in half then put in beans/cheese, whatever you like.

chop up potates into chip sized pieces. put in the moctowave, colvered for a minute or so, to soften up. then place on a greased tray and bake.

using older potates are good cause they arent as moist, so they turn out crispier. put them in the microwave to soften.

chop them up in cubes, add rosemary twigs and whole garlic cloves from one garlic head in a baking dish. Add salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Bake in the oven at 450 degrees for 45 to an hour moving them around with a spatula from time to time. Voila!

Cut a potato into really thin slices, salt them, then eat them.

You can make home made chips in the oven and they are a much healthier option than deep frying.

PotatoBake is yummy for a change. Just thinly slice potatoes then layer in an oven proof dish - 1 layer potato then cheese...cook in oven or microwave. You can add bacon or onion too. =)

cut some potato's in scallops (which is a thicker version of a crisp)
stick them in a roasting dish with some pre-cooked sausages stick some olive oil bit of black pepper and some salt over the top and roast in the oven at around 200 after 20min whack on a chopped onion and peppers if you like them and roast for a further 20 mins
add a bit of soya sauce while cooking if you want to pep up the spice a little bit
Lovely!

Potato is so versatile. There is the obvious boiled baked fried or mashed. Or experiment. I have made mash and mixed in cheese and bacon it is lovely. Or made mini roaties, Grated potato with other veg mixed in using an egg to bind it into burger shapes and fired like veg burgers. I think you can do baked potato chips but never tried good luck and have fun

Roasted Italian potatoes

1 pound of potatoes cut up in 1/2 inch cubes.
Add 1/4 cup of Italian dressing and stir around.

Microwave for 7 minutes on high.

Cook in oven at 375 for 20 minutes until light brown.

Very good.

If you try to bake or broil the chips at very high temp. (450) it can work but the tend to be leathery.

Bake some potatoes, and then take them out and halve them. Scoop out all the potato from the skin.

Mix in a bowl with cheese, onions, bacon bits and/or anything you want - go mad. Put the mixure back into the skins, top with grated cheese and grill for a minute or so, to allow the skin to crisp up and the cheese to melt.

Delicious!

slice potatoes, boil them, put in oven dish 1/4 of a packet sauce made up of course pour over then on top put grated cheese and bread crumbs a nice cheesy potato dish, with a crunchy cheesy topping

as for chips shallow fry in a pan

Dont use chips make potato skins yummy!
Its not fancy and its so easy. You can even have them on thier own.
Make them simple though as adding too much ruins them.

If you dont know how to do it here goes:

Find some good sized baking potatoes,
Put them in the microwave till soft.
Grab a spoon and tea towel and cut the in half lengh ways.
Use the tea towel to hold onto the half and scoop out the inside into a bowl.
do this to all the potatoes.
Then add your desired ingredients, this could be cheese/ butter/ mayo/ tuna/ pineapple/ sweetcorn whatever you fancy.

Mix it all together and put the mixture back into the potaoto skins.
Flatten them off andf pop under the grill to brown off.
If you want them to look posh add some herbs on top to garnish.
Tip: chives go nice inside and on the top.
They can be done in the oven but the take longer.

yes, if you have a pan deep enough you can put oil in that and fry them in there, the important thing is not to put too many in the pan at once, you have to do them in small batches. Also how do you expect to be able to slice them so thin, that would be my concern.

I like to cut my potatoes in strips for fries and bake them for 20-30 mins or so and you can season them any way you like, with Cajun seasoning or garlic oil or what ever you like.

much healthier than frying.

Method
Coat in 2-3 tbsp of sunflower or corn oil.
Spread evenly onto a baking sheet.

Baked potatoes are simple to prepare yet extremely versatile and nutritious. They can be served as an accompaniment, or with a filling as a complete meal

Par boil the potatoes and then cut into chip shapes.
Sprinkle with flour and salt
Put on a flat baking/roasting tray
Sprinkle with olive oil and then bake hot until golden and crunchy. Turn over and do the other sides.

Potato Latkes is a good one, grated and squeezed out, add grated onion squeezing juice out of them and then mix in flour and slat and pepper. Fry in olive oil until they are brown on each side.

Layered potato/onion/cheese/garlic - all thinly sliced. Pour over a cheese custard and bake for a while till potatoes soft. You may need to cover at first and then sprinkle extra cheese on top and cook last 20 mins uncovered to brown cheese.

Plenty more but no time. Am in library.

I like potato soup . Cut 5-6 pototoes into cubesin a bowl of water. Place drained potates in large saucepan cover with one can of chicken broth and add enough water to to cover an inch above potatoes. Add one whole carrot, 1 medium onion chopped, 2 chicken boulionn cubes and 2 stalks of celery chopped thin. Cook until done. You should have liquid left that just covers the potatoes. You can remove the carrot or mash it put back in the mixture. Mash the potatoes leaving some lumps. Add 1 stick butter and 1 can of evaporated milk or 1 1/2 cups of cream. If too thick for your taste thin by using bouliann in water. Salt and pepper to taste.

I've got lots of recipes using potatoes, but not for making chips. Tiny new potatoes cooked in their skins (10 minutes - I do mean tiny). Drain, pour some wine vinegar over them, when tepid (luke warm) drain off the vinegar, add fresh herbs (parsley perhaps), crushed garlic, toss in olive oil and serve cold. Potato salad par excellence!

Large potatoes - we call them Idaho here in Switzerland. Pop them in the oven and bake for at least 1 hour at 180°C. (Depends on size). When the skin has hardened but the potatoe 'gives' when you squeeze it, take it out of the oven, make a deep cross cut into it and add: What you like! Mayo, curry sauce, prawns and ricotta, spinach and ricotta, ham and phili. Heaps of grated cheese and pop it under the grill til the cheese melts.

go to wendys and order fries or potato in microwave

chips
