See my suggestions under your other "onion" Q !

fry them and put them on a steak and cheese sub!!!!

I love fried onions and I just made them yesterday with dinner.

- Cut the onion into slices and seperate each slice into rings. - - Get a large pan and put a couple spoonfuls of margerine in it. Toss in the onions
- Heat on medium-high stirring occassionally. When the butter is melted, make sure you stir it to coat the onion rings
- Continue cooking for about 10 minutes, or until the onions are soft.
- Enjoy!

Saute them in little butter. Bread them and then fry to make onion rings. Make a french onion soup. There are countless ways.

the fastest way is to dice them then fry them in a little sunflower oil.

easiest/fastest way would be to cut and fry them
to make them tasty and edible, carmalize the onions, or season them, add to meat (chopped up in a hamburger, grilled or fried) , or fried over steak, in a meatloaf, ...lots of ways if you like Onions*, onion rings~

put a little water in a skillet and cook the sliced or chopped onions until tender, they will look translucent. Or cook them longer until the are slightly brown for a caramelized onion, great taste! I do this and then add green pepper and then splash in some egg for a great omlet or scrambled egg. Add tomato if you wish.

Drizzle about 1/2- 1 tbsp of olive oil or vegetable oil. Let heat. Add sliced onions. Allow to cook until transparent or longer til they caramelize and get a golden brown color. Add salt & pepper to your tastes.
Cook on low-to medium heat so that you can control how quickly they cook and how long they cook. If you want them firmer then pull them up just before they become transparent.
If you are cooking them for a steak topping then you can add a bit of worcestershire sauce about 1/16 teaspoon or more to your tastes but you don't want it to overpower.

You can buy the blooming onion kit at walmart in the produce section taste real close to outbacks

This isn't exactly fast, but it's easy, and delicious. And, you can make a big batch to last several meals.

French Onion Soup
8 medium to large onions
4 tablespoons butter
2 10-3/4 ounce cans concentrated beef or chicken broth
1-1/2 cans of water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce

Cut the onions into 3/8" slices, then cut the slices in half. In a 4-quart stockpot or Dutch oven, saute the onions in the butter. Do this very slowly, over a medium heat until deep, dark brown, with a thickened, almost caramelized texture without being burned. This can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes. Add the broth, water, salt and Worchestershire sauce and simmer until hot.

I like to serve it by ladling putting a slice of French bread in an oven proof soup crock, lading the soup on top, then covering it with thinly sliced Mozzarella or Provolone cheese. Then I place the crocks under the broiler until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown on top.

deep fried onion rings

Slice and fry, add a little water and a stock cube and reduce.
You will have a lovely sauce to have with Beef, Chicken or Vegetables, depend upon the stock cube you use.
I will often quarter and steam them with other veggies.
