The comfort foods we crave are usually loaded with fat and calories. But there are healthier ways to enjoy your favorite comfort foods.

Watch portion size; don't overindulge in just one food.
When the urge for ice cream hits, top a low-fat version with granola or try sherbet topped with fruit.
If cookies are your comfort food, reach for oatmeal-raisin, vanilla wafers, or ginger snaps.
When salt is what you crave, try popcorn, pretzels dipped in mustard, or baked tortilla chips and salsa.
Add grated, shredded, or chopped vegetables like zucchini, spinach, or carrots to your favorite lasagna, meat loaf, or mashed-potato recipe.

Strawberries and creme fraiche.

eat whatever you like! just dont go over the top

get an ice cream cone....you just can't feel bad eating one

i love some crackers with cream cheese and jelly. as a matter of fact i'm eating rice cakes with cream cheese and blackberry jelly. half fattening, half healthy.

May sound strange, but I eat Ritz crackers when I crave comfort foods. It's not the greatest cracker there is out there, but I see it as a lot better than eating a candybar or quart of ice cream. It's just got all the right components of comfort food--texture, a little buttery, salty, and a bit sweet. And you can top them with whatever you'd like!

Lentil soup or veggie chilli! Wendy's chilli is actually not too bad in calories or fat!!

Also, I like chicken strips made with Italian bread crumbs and skinless chicken breast strips --- baked on a baking stone. Spice them up with some hot sauce in the eggs wash and dip in fat free ranch! Serve with your favorite veggie or on a salad.

SOUP...always soup to perk you up! I make a chicken broth with pastina or egg noodles, parsely, fresh ground pepper and salt to taste.
