ABOUT COOKING ribs?!
Answers: my friend told me to boli my ribs in orange soda and then grill... she said they have great flavor, has anyone heard of or done this? how is it?
boiled ribs no no let me tell ya how we do it down south, and i cook the best ribs your mouth will ever experience, trust me.... what you need is a basing sauce to use while they are cooking on the pit or if you choose in the oven. and you bast them as often as you like i only cook my ribs on the pit and dam they are gooooood.... my secret sauce my daddy taught me years ago. small pan put a pad of butter or marg. and lea and perrin sauce about 1/2 cup or more, lemon juice hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, or plane a spoon of sugar... cut up 1/2 onion in it and if you use real lemons leave 2 or 3 lemon half in it, seasoning like garlic pepper, herbs, lemon pepper, onion SALT what ever you like, let it cook down for a minute or two and taste it as you go i like to put some white wine in it to top it off....after you make it a couple of times you ll get the favor you like down to a tee. the sauce keeps the meat juicy and lets you cook the ribs with out boiling them...iam sure the orange thing is good but they boil the ribs because they don't want to have tender dry ribs, my way you have cooked tender juicer ribs, and they don't turn to mu-sch and hey put some orange juice in your basting sauce, **** i think iam going to try that i bet that will have a great taste,
I have heard of boiling them in an effort to tenderize them but,not in orange soda. sounds interesting though....id say give it a try and see what you think..
i always just grill my ribs, with some salt and pepper. It might be good boiled in orange soda. if your friend says its good, try it
I boil mine in water mixed with spices but perhaps orange soda adds another type of flavour so why not try it. Personally I wouldn't.
I've never tried to boil soda, however I believe it may boil over. This much the same as pasta or potatoes.
marinating your ribs with your favorite sauce with lemon or grapefruit juice; a good tenderizer. Cut your sauce by one sixteenth;marinate for forty eight hours, covered in the fridge, before your favorite preparation method.
I have marinated mine with orange juice but never try soda!Hmmm I may try that to.Thank your friend pls lol
Try to boil them in water with vinegar. This will help to tenderize them before you grill them. If you are going to put BBQ sauce on them don't put it on until the ribs are almost done. To early will just burn the sauce and the ribs will not be cooked all the way.
thats very interesting. i havent ever heard of doing that before but it would be fun to see how they turn out. ive heard of people using coke or moutain dew in recipes so why not use orange soda. i bet alot of it cooks away so it probably wouldnt be to bad!
