Burned Chili - Any way to include it in an edible dish? It's really good but charred. Please help me :(?!

Question: Okay so I left it on the stove too long without stirring it. I've salvaged all I can but I've got a lot left. Contains: braised stewing beef cubes, ground beef, dark red kidney beans, tomatos, tomato paste, tomato soup, sliced & chopped & minced onions & mushrooms, chili powder, crushed red peppers, crushed & chopped garlic. Plus 1/8 inch of black burned char.
So is there some dish (anything) that needs black burned char? Charred chili and potato soup? Please help me!

YOU COULD LAYER IT WITH FRITOS CORN CHIPS,CHILI IN THE MIDDLE,
THEN LOTS OF SHREDDED CHEESE, THEN BAKE IT FOR 15-20 MIN @350
TILL THE CHEESE IS MELTED, THEN SERVE IT WITH SOUR CREAM.

THE CHEESE AND SOUR CREAM SHOULD MAKE THE BURNT STUFF NOT QUITE SO BAD

GOOD LUCK

"Blackened" doesn't refer to charred I'm afraid, so you're out of luck. Most people don't like charred food unless their talking about a good steak. Your best bet is to toss the stuff that tastes burned, soak the pan and salvage the rest.

If you stirred it the charred taste will go through out the Chili...taste it...if it taste charred Id throw it out....it just isnt a good taste....

If you're in the suburbs or country, feed it to the animals. Otherwise, the trash or garbage can or garbage disposal will have a meal.

Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

Yes, that is my real last name!

you could try ramen noodles in the microwave or an even easier resipe is macorroni and cheese.

Dear charred chili lady,
Add your mixture to rice, wild brown is much healthier than the white.
Four parts rice to one part chili.serve hot and add Parmesan cheese (powdered before serving.

Many times, when you burn a big pot of something, it can be salvaged.

First of all, don't stir and don't scrape the bottom. Take the top layer off into another dish and leave the burned stuck part alone. If the rest tastes okay, serve it. If it tastes too burned, thrown it out.

I also do alot of things with chili that might cut some of the unwanted flavor in this case. Kids especially like "Frito Pie". Layer Frito chips, onion, bell pepper (optional), chili and cheese in a casserole dish and heat until warmed through. Sour cream is optional as a side or on top.

Mixing it with elbow macaroni and cheese to make "chili-mac" might cut some of the burned taste.

First thing when you scorch something is to NOT stir it! Pour it out of that pan, leaving the scorch in the bottom of the pan, and pour it into a new, clean pan. Usually that will take care of any off-taste.

If you've scraped up the scorch and stirred it up, just pitch it. It's not worth dissecting to get out the burned up particles w/ tweezers.

what JD in FL said plus one extra thing. the instant you realize what you have done, like she said, do not stir the bottom but also, dump the whole thing into a clean pot. If you can, when you dump it, do so in such a way so that you are holding the kettles far apart. This action lets more steam escape and with it will go alot of the burned taste, sometimes, enough to salvage what you have left.
