Penne Pasta question?!
Answers: Ok. We went to this restaurant where they had penne pasta prepared very simply. I think it was just cooked, drained, then it had butter and some herb. Was it parsley? I thought it was, but when I tried making it at home it tasted funny. I added the parsley last...should I have cooked it with it? It just tastes very strong. I minced it well and didnt put TOO much in, but what IS in there is too strong. What went wrong?
You literally only need a pinch it was parsley flat leafed.
maybe it was oregano, not parsley.
It's oregano.
Could it have been
Aglio e olio (spaghettini with garlic and olive oil)
Prepared properly, that is a fantastic dish
could it have been basil, just tear roughly and toss through withy a little really good olive oil, salt and pepper, finely grated lemon rind. have not had pasta with butter, usually olive oil is used
too much parsley, maybe yours was just too strong...yes: you should try just some olive oil and garlic, toss in a touch of parsley. Oregano is REALLY strong, so I wouldn't put too much in at all.
My favorite pasta toss is a mix of herbs that I buy, with olive oil. Yum!
it was probably fresh oregano .... fresh herbs aren't as pungent as dried ones.... It might have been Italian flat-leaf parsley though
Did you use Flat Leaf Parsley or Curly Leaf Parsley?
I tend to cook with flat leaf, garnish with curley.
It could have been spinach too...
Just chopped and sprinkled in, not cooked.
Could it have been the oil? Use olive oil AND butter and not just butter?
Hum... Could be those... Good luck!
I've made this mistake once...i was in a rush and grabbed cilantro (which has a very strong flavor)...they look similar...maybe you just used the wrong herb
