This is my hubby's favorite! We use a bit less of the Worcestershire sauce, ususally putting in only about 1/4 of a tsp.

BILL'S BLUE CHEESE DRESSING

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup sour cream
1 1/3 cups mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 ounces blue cheese, crumbled

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce. Season with mustard, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir in blue cheese. Cover, and refrigerate for 24 hours before serving.

Why would someone want to eat blue cheese salad dressing? I HATE it!

6 ounces chunk Bleu cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon onion, grated
1 teaspoon mustard
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Crumble Bleu cheese. Mix all ingredients together. Cover and chill

The recipes from BlueSea and Caroline are excellent examples. A really simple alternative is to add crumbled blue cheese to any ready made buttermilk dressing, like Hidden Valley Ranch.

I am a former chef and those 2 recipes are close to what we used in a professional kitchen, but I worked with greek chefs and they add a bit of dried oregano or even fresh with a dash of dill, this offset the tanginess of the cheese, I would proportion the mayo to sour cream 60/40, and for me a bit more garlic either powder or fresh chopped, and make sure the cheese is not to fine or you loose it, it will breakdown and soften.

INGREDIENTS:

* 1 cup (about 4 ounces) crumbled blue (bleu) cheese
* 2 cups mayonnaise
* 1/4 cup vinegar
* 2 tablespoons sugar
* 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
* 1 clove garlic, minced

PREPARATION:
Beat all ingredients together until fluffy. Chill.
