Is there a secret to cleaning the dark stains off the bottom of your stainless steel pans?!

Question: Thanks in advance

Baking soda and vinegar works, also I use easy off oven cleaner... let it sit, clean it off then wash it ... comes out sparkly

Have you tried baking soda mixed into a thick paste with a little bit of water? I use that for all my tough stains (like burnt on stuff on my stovetop, which seems similar to stuff burnt onto the bottom of a pan). Add just enough water so it's slightly pastey but still slightly granular and use your fingertips to scrub (you can try a sponge or paper towels but I find they never work as well).

the baking soda paste is awesome.

i find using a sponge just as effective, but only if it has one of those coarse scrubbers on one side. if you use the scrubby pad, you can cover a wider area, and the baking soda doesn't get trapped in the spongey part instead of staying on the pan.

use just a little bit of elbow grease, and your pan will come out sparkling.

for really tough stains, make a loose baking soda paste and let it soak overnight.

I know boiling tomato juice works for aluminium pans, so it might work for stainless steel as well.
I used to use 2 tbs of cream of tartar and water boiled in my stainless coffee pot and it made the coffee stained inside sparkle.
