Why make an omelette when you can just make scrambled eggs?!
Answers: I don't understand why I can't get the omelette right, but I make great fluffy scrambled eggs. I figured if I add the omelette ingredients while scrambling my eggs, it would taste the same...and it did!!...Does anybody know a difference between the two?
yes. Scrambled eggs are traditionally made by cookin whole eggs in the pan and mixing it there, so the finished products are more loose.
Omelettes are normally done in fine dining restaurants. and the filling is normally folded in. there is not much of a difference in scrambled eggs and omelette based on taste but in scrambled eggs, you could taste the ingredients in the egg more because you mixed it together, unlike in an omelette where you fold in the filling.
also, scrambled eggs are normally fully cooked and are cooked in medium or even high heat sometimes. whereas the omelette is cooked in very low heat or very high heat and are almost never flipped, they are just folded(half cooked) prior to serving.
omelettes are also circular in shape unlike scrambled which are, well, scrambled in shape. sometimes the other ingredients are whisked in a bowl with the egg, this is a variation called fritata. anyways if you need more info.:::
The omelette's texture, especially the outside, is different, and its ability to hold ingredients is greater. Cheese blended with scrambled eggs would probably burn, for instance.
However, great fluffy scrambled eggs with stuff mixed in is quite delicious. What time is brunch?
An omelet is an "envelope" for the ingredients; scrambled eggs have the two mixed together. It's just your preference for the form you prefer! I like omelets.
the omlette's thicker
i like both....but omlette better...coz the stuffing is a surprise...at least it was like that when i was a kid, and my mom used to stuff it with mushrooms and cheese and peppers, pork and chicken and sometimes tuna...so it was always a cool thing first thing in the morning....
yeah it tastes the same....but it just depends from person to person and how they like it....
Gourmet cook Julia Child once described, "Omelette after all is a soft-cooked scrambled eggs, wrapped in an envelope of firmly-cooked scrambled eggs".
I usually mess up my omelette too. I just mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and pour it into the pan. It turns out fine and the cheese never burns. I put sour cream on top and it is great. So my omelette turns into scrambled eggs with omelette ingredients.
It is just presentation..
an omelet can be a work of art with the addition of veggies for color red and green belpeppers chives and cheeses.
Scrambled is just a jumble..and Blah
