Anyone have a recipe for porkchops with potatoes?!
Answers: I want to bake some porkchops tonight with idaho potatoes in the same baking pan, but I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone give me a step by step recipe for baked porkchops and potatoes?
Brown pork chops in a little oil in a frying pan
slice potatoes and onions
place chops in baking dish
layer potatoes and onions
salt and pepper each layer
mix 1 can of cream of mushroom soup and 1 can water
pour over top of potatoes and onions
bake covered at 350 deg. for about 1 hour.
You can look for good seasonings for the porkchops on google and you can boil the potatoes or pan fry or anything that suits you :) Personally (for a heathier choice) i would bake the stuff in the oven.
This was really easy to make, and we loved it! For a big family, just add more chops and potatoes. If you use thinner chops, bake for a shorter time.
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 to 4 boneless thick pork chops, about 3/4 to 1-inch thick
2 tablespoons flour
Creole seasoning
4 to 6 medium red potatoes, peeled or not, cut in 1/2-inch thick wedges
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Sprinkle the chops with Cajun seasoning then flour. Add to the hot pan. Fry for a few minutes on each side, until nicely browned. Sprinkle the prepared potatoes with a little Cajun seasoning and pepper then add to the pan.
Add garlic. Toss to coat with the oil and garlic. Fry for just a few minutes, then remove everything to a baking dish. Drain off any excess oil, then deglaze the skillet with the chicken broth, scraping bits off the bottom. Bring to a boil then pour the liquid over the chops and potatoes. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for about 45 minutes.
Serves 2 to 4.
Simple recipe for you:
Place pork chops in ovenproof dish,
Mix 1 can of mushroom soup with 1/2 can of water
Pour over the pork chops
Peel, wash & thinly slice a few raw potatoes & arrange nicely on top of pork dish so that chops are fully covered.
Cook for about 35 to 40 minutes or until cooked.
About 5 minutes before finish, grate some cheddar cheese on top, return to oven until brown.
Serve with green veg & mushrooms & creamed potatoes.
Enjoy (not much washing up after either)
