Why not just call raisins dried grapes?!

Question: because it sounds funner...hahaha

Answers: because it sounds funner...hahaha

raisins are not just dried grapes they have a certain chemical on them to help them from going stale so there not just dried grapes

and raisins sounds better then dried grapes to be honest

I don't know but why isn't there a special name for dried tomatoes?

well... doesn't sound very appetizing. raisins is a cute little name.

raisin sec does mean dry grape in french

Raisin is French for grape. As well they are heavily sugared in the process of turning a grape into a raisin. Hence the differences.

why do you call cow meat beef

You can call them anything you care to , if you don't mind sounding like an ignoramus .
The word "raison" is sufficient and understandable to the rest of us .

Not all raisins contain chemicals IE sulfur ( to help the drying process).
There are many naturally dried grapes er I mean raisins.

"What's in a name"?
Marketing of course.
Dried "grapes" vs. "raisins".
Raisins sounds more appealing.

If you buy "Slim Jims" for instance and they called it what it really is ( cured beef lips), would you still buy them?
Ergo "Slim Jims" and Not "Cured Beef Lips".
It's all about money and marketing( in most cases).

why not call fecal matter what it is ?

I DONT KNOW ,,,,,,,I FEEL THE SAME WAY.............
