Cut off the two ends of the pineapple. So now you have a pineapple with the skin on except at it's two ends. Now stand the pineapple up on your cutting board. Now place your knife at the top of the pineapple, and slice off a strand of skin. Go around the pineapple cutting the skin off strand by strand. There might be some brown spots with a spike sticking out, you just have to cut those out. Eventually you will get a bare pineapple with a core in the middle. Now cut off the flesh of the pine apple just like you did the skin. Cut the rectangles of pineapple into smaller squares.

Pineapple isn't the easiest fruit to cut!

Get a knife... (lol)

For a more serious answer check the link below...

just do a cross section so you get the circle. use a big sharp knife. they can be cut heaps of ways though and can look very decorative.

with a knife right down the middle

1. Get a good knife (this is a given, sorry for the redundancy)
2. Cut the top off right under the green branchy stem
3. Slice the remaining part down the middle from top to bottom.
4. Then just slice out the rest like a watermelon, or cantaloupe.

Hope this helps!

cut in circles then cut them into wedges, great on the grill !

Cut across with a large deep knife, keep the pressure downwards.

get the knife and cut from the center...........

You can purchase a pineapple cutter for under $5 at one of those kitchen gadget stores or Walmart. They work great.

Choo-choo had the only right answer that I can see. You can cut it like the others recommended, but I think you'll have problems. Pineapple has a core, you have to make a lot more cuts if you cut down the middle to start with. And you get the most fruit if you do it the way choo-choo said. It's a bit of a pain, but I think it's worth it.

I've heard you get more nutrients out of it if you eat it right after you cut it, so I never get it pre-cut at the store.
