Is hummus and a few wholegrain rice cakes a good enough, healthy lunch? or is it not enough? any ideas?!

Yes. Actually, you are combining your starches in those 2 items to make a complete protein. Way to go!

You may want to add a piece of fresh fruit, too.

sure. i eat it as a main course for lunch all the time. its very satisfying!!

however i usually substitute the tahini with fat free yogurt because tahini is too fatty.

Not adequate. I would put the hummus in a whole wheat pita with some lettuce and tomato. How about a nice grilled chicken salad for lunch? Or a healthy turkey sandwich and cup of soup? You really should eat something substantial at lunch time to get you through the afternoon.

That could be a tasty healthy lunch, but it wouldn't hurt to add some low-fat dairy, a vegetable, and a piece of fruit!

It's fine, as long as you add a vegetable or fruit ... remember that you need 5 servings of fruits or vegetables per day.... Drink a glass of orange juice with this and you're fine

hummus is a good source of protien so I would add some veggies and a glass of skim milk to round it out and get your calcium too.
