For my girls I make a decently sized veggie and fruit plate for them to snack on thru out the day. Saves on me going thru the" No thats not what I want, its the other thing moooooom" Routine. But for lunches I make sure get what they want but its not to greasy or cheap. Today its grilled TBLT"Turkey Bacon lettuce and tomato" panini with a garden salad and a bit of italian pasta salad. And a fresh fruit cup for dessert. I cut the sandwiches in to finger like sections and its alot easier for them to pick up and they say its alot of fun too.

Try fun shaped pastas with pepperoni bites, chunks of cheese they like, and add in steamed veggies like carrots, peppers, broccoli and such

Home made mini calzones, hotdogs cut in half wrapped in cresent roll dough" dogs in a blanket", make your own chicken tenders using potato chips that you bake not fry, same goes for making homefries you bake them.

So give a few a try find ones that you and your child like best, write them down and make them apart of your every day usual go too snack/food list.

I have a two year old and she eats:
raisins
breakfast bars
chewy granola bars
grits
oatmeal
ham rolls (ham and cheese rolls)
wraps (ham, turkey, cheese, eggs, bacon, or chili wrapped in flour tortilla)
Corn dog nuggets, fish sticks, chicken nuggets
EZ mac
rice a Ronni (low sodium)
Cheerios and bananas
Yogurt with fruit
baked french fries, or tater tots
homemade smoothie (frozen yogurt and fruit)
Toast with jelly
I cook chicken quesodillas ahead and heat and serve later
(flour tortillas, can of chicken breast, mozzarella cheese, Place cheese and chicken on tortilla and cook in a tiny amount of grease on both sides till cheese is melted then cut and place in a bowl till ready to eat then heat in microwave)
This can also be done with biscuits and sausage....

yogurt
pretzels
raisins, other dried fruits
any fresh fruit (try something new like kiwi, pineapple, pmegranites, melons)
roll-ups of thinly sliced lunch meat
small cheese cubes (can buy already cubed!)
make a smoothie w/ lowfat milk or yogurt, fresh fruit, and ice (or frozen fruit and no ice)

wraps with cream cheese and meat in them rolled up and cut into small pinwheel shapes its a good way to sneak veggies in there too like peppers or spinach.

frozen grapes
hummus and pita chips
soup
