I have been in this "slump" too. I have made the noodles only to discover that the milk has been taken by a cute little kid. I cannot exactly throw out the noodles. They are hungry and they are coming. Here are some suggestions:

2 Tbs of mayonaise works

or

If you have coffee creamer, dry milk, or any type of milk product. Mix the dry items with water to make a "milky" mix. Use about 4 Tbs of this.

2 Tbs Sour cream

2 Tbs of Plain Yogurt

When these things are not available, just use a little extra margarine and stir well. It won't taste all that bad.

Also, you might try (if you like the ingredients) - and if you use maynaise, Adding tuna (and peas) - not you have cheap hamburger helper. Meal for 2.5 (costs 40 cents for the mac n cheese and .65 cents for the tuna - add in peas for .50) - cheap meal and not too bad.

Another suggestion: add diced tomatoes, tomato sauces, spaghetti sauce and mix well.

Also 2 Tbs Italian dressing or 2 Tbs ranch dressing.

Yeah..you kind of need milk... It won't be very good without it.

try water i guess.lol or not make it...

Water works for me. As long as it's just for you, you won't notice much difference. You can also add butter and/or deli cheese until you like it. :)

Sour cream & water or plain yogurt and water...whatever is white based like that will work. I have a cookbook that has substitutions in it and have used both because often times we are out of milk and do not realize it until already cooking quick dinner.

I just use water when we're camping. Not as good, but it works.

You have to use milk or half and half or something like that or the sauce will not taste good.

plain soy milk. it works, as long as you don't mind the soy part.

or water mixed with sour cream or buttermilk, which both work as long as you mix the buttermilk with some water to reduce the tang.

Soy milk?

Go buy some milk at the store to complete your meal silly.

Any cream or half-and-half?Any dairy products? 1/2 cup of evaporated milk + 1/2 cup of water= 1 cup of milk

I use evaporated milk when I dont have reg milk. It works just as well and makes the mac and cheese alittle richer.

I made it recently with evaporated milk, came out fine.

ok gaby, u r OBSESSED with spiderman...and spongebob... MAC&CHEESE!!! i really dont think u can make it w/o milk!!! lol. :)

cream, soy milk, sour cream??? water might be nasty, then again easy mac has water in it

first always keep a couple cans of evaporated milk in the house, for emergencies, then don't buy the box stuff any more ewww!!
easy recipe, 1lb, pasta, your choice,
1 to 1 1/2 lb. cheese, not all Cheddar
it will be to dry,
1can evaporated milk.
while pasta is cooking, heat milk and add cheese mixing until smooth, drain pasta, add cheese, better for you, something different, add salsa,

Coffee creamer, 1 part to 3.
