What would be a good spaghetti pasta to spaghetti sauce ratio?!

Question: One pound of pasta makes from 2-1/2 to 4 cups of cooked pasta, so it will vary. Also, you may need different amounts of sauce depending on how thick the sauce is, as well as if you use pasta of different shapes. Personally, I think a 1:1 ratio based on cooked volume is good. There's really no right or wrong answer!

My personal preference is 3:1, I like a lot of sauce.

1 pound pasta to 48 oz sauce

That's a personal preference, some people like a lot of sauce while those in the other camp like very little......so it's just how each individual person likes it.....I like mine 1:1.......again, just a personal preference.....example: my sister: she drowns her pasta with sauce, so, there ya go.....

It's all based on personal preference. What I normally do is to mix the pasta with a small amount, just enough to coat the spaghetti, then serve the sauce on the side. Like everyone else that answered said, some like a small amount and with the sauce on the side people that like their spaghetti swimming in sauce, it's on the table for the taking. I'd say 6 ounces per serving (about 3/4 of a cup) would be about right.
