Fish cooks @400 1/2 Hr.; Chips cook @450. 20 minutes. Oven is set @ 400. Which food goes on top rack & which!
Heat rises, so would the chips go on top for one half hour, but then the fish would be closer to the heating element, located on the floor of the oven, & would block the full heat effect from getting to the chips. Should the fish, (which is in a pan half the size of the sheet the chips are on) go on the top rack & the chips go on the lower rack?
Which goes on top? The fish or chips, (french fries)?
Answers: food goes on the bottom rack.

The top shelf browns the top of the food and the lower browns the bottom of the pan. Put the fish in first for 5 minutes then the chips.... after 15 minutes trade the dishes on the shelves.
Here's what I do. I put everything on a cookie sheet and throw it in a 425 oven for 15 min. All done at the same time.
