No, I still think it is the 50 year old in the fancy bottle...
It just looks too new, I guess...
Wait...which one is fake?
The label looks brand new? (1st guess)
2nd guess...the label doesn't have the right notice of approval from the CABM
ok ok...Im tryin..let me look again
something about alfredi and not modeno? or is that just the brand name?
The Leaf system?
This one contains sugar as an ingredient and true balsamics don't?
Wait...the gold cap indicates it is only 25 years old?
The label would have tradizionele if it were real?
WOW!!!!! Great question!!!!! I am still trying, though!
It should cost a lot more if it were a true 50 yr old?
Something about API MO or API RE? where it is made?
The must content isn't right?
This is killing me!!!!!!!!
Anyone know the answer yet? I am about to leave work and won't get back to the computer until tomorrow!!!
Thanks for a great question!
THANK YOU!!!!! I just had to find out the answer! I love balsamic and will be looking closely at the bottles from now on!
I give up, tell us.
The two white bottles? True balsamic has to age properly as well as be certified. I saw it a long time ago on Food Network about the specific certification to be real balsamic vinegar.
YEAH, THE WHITE ONE.
well....i checked it out....and yes I do use Balsamic Vinegar.....but go ahead....tell us!!...could it be the white ones???
Is there such a thing as 15 star balsamic?
According to google earth there is no Alfredo, Italy.
It's the 50 year old one. There is no platinum!
It should have a gold cup on the label, indicating the age.
Shouldn't it be labeled "Aceto balsamico tradizionale di Modena" and not "Balsamic Vinegar di Modena, Italy"
This bottle doesn't meet the requirements of the DOC, ultimately the Consorzios.
This one? http://cgi.ebay.com/50-Year-Old-Balsamic...
How old can balsamic vinegar get to be??
Balsamic vinegar can't age up to 50 years.
(Second try) The labels are mismatched: Aceto Balsamico di Modena and L'Acetaia di Alfredo
who cares? move on.
I want to cry I am so stupid I think it's the little 1 in the box
Changing my mind-there is NO label on the fancy bottle
I believe it is the Monari Federzoni. If it isn't, I wouldn't buy it anyway because of the sulfides which are used for quick aging.
Oh! and balsamic can age up to 150 years old, but 12 years is considered very acceptable.
I keep coming back to this question because it bothers me. I have never purchased or seen balsamic in a clear bottle. Red wine is in dark bottles and so is all of the balsamic I have ever seen. For the same reason , probably. So, it's the clear bottle. OK, I'm done.
On second thought, there should be a gold seal on all bottles over 25 years old and I don't see anything on the neck of this bottle.
I agree, the Monari is junk--that's why I considered it an impostor. Wheee! This is fun!
I also vote for the 50 year one. A fine, aged balsamic vinegar would never be stored in clear glass. It would be opaque.
should it have a gold label?
i found the website of these bottles so are they all fake???
Is it this one?
