Cooking away fat?!


Question: my parents always say that grilling or steming food will sweat out fat from food...i dont know if it is true so i need a right answer...i what a specific answer

Yes grilling and steaming will burn some of the fats from the food, grilling More then steaming, but you should not rely on the cooking method to get rid of the excess unnecessary fat, before you set up the grill, try to cut off as much fat as you can if you want pure lean meat.

Some of the fat drips away from the food as it melts, but not all of it. Grilling drips away more fat than pan frying, where the meat is in contact with the fat. It's not a huge difference, though. Even in pan frying, a lot of the fat stays in the pan, so it's dripping away to some extent.

Steaming isn't usually a good way to cook fatty meats, but it is a good way to cook veggies and seafood with no added fat. Other methods of preparation (like pan saute) usually add extra oils or butter.
